What is coming up that you are looking forward to? Something new? Something you watch every year? Any recommendations?

I will buy a tv magazine but I don’t seem to find anything like I did in the old days.

I always look forward to Call the Midwife and the BBC usually do something scary which is fun. I haven’t looked at what’s on yet though this year.

Tistheseason23 · 17/12/2023 22:22

I think there’s a Doctor Who special on Christmas Day which I might watch with teen dc (only thing they will watch probably.)

I have never seen an episode of Call the Midwife!

There's a special Masterchef when the food critics have to cook. I'm very excited about that.

Blueyedgirl38 · 17/12/2023 22:39

The Agatha Christie drama

The fact that the BBC are showing the absolutely shite Mrs Brown's boys tells you how low the bar's been set.

Lot no 249 on BBC2-
adapted by Mark Gatiss who writes a lot of ghost story tales , Christmas Eve would not be the same without them.

And of course , Eastenders .

RainbowZebraWarrior · 18/12/2023 18:46

The Tourist.

Ricky Gervais new Netflix special on Christmas Day.

Ooh. Thanks for this. I love anything Mark Gatiss does. Also, Kit Harington is a bonus!

I bought a TV Guide for the in laws as I thought it would be nice as they are over for a week - £4.50! I hadn't bought a TV Guide for years and years!

I got mine today for £1.60. Still pricey but not as pricey

Call the midwife, and of course the highbrow televisual feast that is the Masked Singer on the 30th....

Ghosts Christmas special. Will be bittersweet though, as it's the last ever

Charliebighamfan · 18/12/2023 19:23

tokesqueen · 18/12/2023 19:50

The darts.

ArcticBells · 18/12/2023 20:03

Will be catching up on Vigil. Loved the last serial

5foot5 · 18/12/2023 22:59

Definitely All Creatures Great and Small on 21st.

I suppose the Dr Who on Christmas Day.

Quite interested in seeing the drama Mr Bates v. The Post Office about the Horizon scandal. That starts on New Years Day.

Oh and my New Year always starts with the concert from Vienna.

We stopped getting Radio Times weekly because of the expense and because we didn't read most of it. However I made an exception for the Christmas issue so we could browse it and plan what we wanted to watch or record.
