Alex has.

What I wouldn't give to have him berate me like that. Cor.

Last weeks was a bit meh, but I'm looking foward to tonight..

OP posts:
VictorianSqualor · 27/03/2008 08:27

Only a few hours to go!

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 09:10

Blardy hell, went to bed early and then sodding well woke up at 1am. That'll teach me.

PP, I confess, while I think there will definitely be some seriously lovely moments tonight, a kiss is unlikely. Well, a full on cor-blimey-missus one anyway.

But, to tide you over, this is one the best fan-stories I've read so far. (not mine, sadly)

procrastinatingparent · 27/03/2008 09:46

Excellent! I enjoyed that, SBK.

Right, off to toddler group. My day is so exciting.

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 13:49

Has anyone just seen the trailer for tonight after the news?

[nonchalant]

keepcalmandcarryon · 27/03/2008 13:53

sorry pp (and anyone else) for previous blatantlyuntrue misleading post. Would Gene give me a good ticking off, d'you reckon ?

Saving the fanfic for later, Sue, as a treat from when I get back from taking the DC's swimming.

Hmm, pp, quite agree, can't imagine why we're revelling in this absurd sexy escapist fantasy when our day to day lives are sooooo thrilling....

oh my, looking forward to this evening!

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 13:59

Ah, yes, my exciting life with the children now making a den in the back room while Derek Jacobi is asking who's not in bed on the telly, and I sip coffee and try to stop being such a ruddy teenager.

chrissnow · 27/03/2008 14:12

I've been hoping for a thread like this!!

mmmmmmmm Gene Hunt. yum. I have a bit of an attraction to slightly pockmarked men.
Gene Hunt
Bill Murray
Robert Lindsay
and the guy who played the consultant in the first series of Holby City.

procrastinatingparent · 27/03/2008 14:37

Pockmarked! Great word!

So what about that trailer, Sue? Anything to add our fevered speculation? Is it on YouTube yet?

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 14:40

It's not on Youtube, it's a mixed 'what's on tonight' trailer. One shot of something that was in the 'Next time...' trail, and the final shot was of Gene bursting through double doors with someone in his arms.

(me, of course)

procrastinatingparent · 27/03/2008 14:46

Mmmmmmm. Very manly.

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 15:16

arf. Yes, 'tis very manly (and does seem to confirm my theory)

[smug]

Just seen a very amusing photo-shopped avatar someone's done with a picture of PG in Cranford and the words 'Get your horse and carriage, love, you've pulled'

I did have a titter to meself.

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 16:13

yay!

lottiejenkins · 27/03/2008 17:36

Doesnt mention whether Alex is back though does it??

VictorianSqualor · 27/03/2008 17:50

2009....................

keepcalmandbollyon · 27/03/2008 18:27

tries new Thursday evening name on for size, leaving plenty of time before 9pm - sigh

[twirls]

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 18:53

lovely!

keepcalmandbollyon · 27/03/2008 19:13

yes, I thought it suited me

OK, whose DC's are in bed yet? Because mine aren't, and am rapidly losing patience with the real world.

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 19:27

Mine neither.

I am a v. bad mother, because OH has gone out for the evening, and I'm not giving them a bath, they're watching Strawberry Shortcake as a bribe to get them to go to bed like good little kids (or I'll stamp on their toys).

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 19:31

I mean, good grief, I've not been as excited about a telly programme since...

erm, well, actually, the Doctor Who episode Utopia, but that was like, oh, gosh, months ago now.

keepcalmandbollyon · 27/03/2008 19:31

that's what I like, a parenting standard to aspire to

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 19:37

I might even let them jump on their beds until they fall asleep with the light on, as long as they keep the door closed.

[wicked mother]

procrastinatingbollyknickers · 27/03/2008 20:12

Trying to hint DH out to the gym so I can get all girly and excited uninterrupted.

If we're in a bad mother competition, I'd like to submit my entry: DS2 is very poorly with an ear infection, has gone to bed with no dinner and obviously in lots of pain, and my first thought was 'he'd better not wake between 9 and 10pm'.

Like my new name?

[jumps on bandwagon]

SueBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 20:21

Three down, one to go.

I am repeating a calming mantra. Nine o'clock isn't far away... nine o'clock isn't far away.

Tape all cued up ready, checked that the video is on the right channel. All is well.

keepcalmandbollyon · 27/03/2008 20:23

ooh, very nice name pbk!

[wishes DH was out tonight ]

oh and DD3 has just told me something very exciting about meercats, only to be told "hush darling, it's time to sleep now"

JackieBollyKnickers · 27/03/2008 20:26

Am seething with suppressed excitement. DH is upstairs with what appears to be a migraine, poor thing, but I'm also thinking 'please don't let him need anything between 9 and 10'
