Louis Theroux interview with Joan Collins

Anyone else watching. She looks great for 90 and still so sharp of mind.

I didn't scrutinise Joan Collins, I could see she was well made up but she was being filmed and they all do that for the camera. She is quite remarkable for her age. If I live to ninety (not likely), I would love to have her mental acuity. I do think her husband must take some credit, he seemed so very nice and they appear to be happy.

I love her but always suspect she would scare the shit out of me in real life 😅

I'm glad Joan finally found a decent man, he seems like a good guy, she certainly had some horrors in the past. When she and Percy - who's about 30 years younger? -got married, a reporter called out to her "Hey Joanie, what about the age difference?" The Look, a shrug "if he dies, he dies".

Watching now. By God, what a resilient woman. Interesting that she namedrops Kirk Douglas early on in a seemingly positive way (Natalie Wood's sister claimed he assaulted Natalie) when she talks about other predators later. Perhaps she knew a different Kirk or didn't believe the accusation. Bloody heartbreaking that she felt she should marry her own rapist. Then a philanderer, drug addict and golddigger to follow...
Thank God for Percy. He seems like a great fit and clearly adores her. His humour does shine through in this. As to Joan, she looks amazing. Even the more au naturel scenes at the market and in the café, you'd never place her as 90.
I wish she'd do a waltz or American Smooth on a Xmas Strictly. She'd be glorious. What a legend!

I'd take what Joan says about her exes with a pinch of salt. She needs material for her autobiographies and one woman shows. For such a savvy woman to have 4 dreadful husbands (plus a LTR ) seems a stretch.

I'm old enough to remember the husbands. She's been quite restrained in her descriptions of them, plenty of contemporary press coverage will inform you.

But on the other hand, I bet she's a nightmare to live with.

Well, the power dynamic is that he dotes/supports/fetches her things waits on her hand and foot like her P.A. and she brings in the £ to afford them the lifestyle. Quid pro quo. If he was a fortune seeker/cocklodger, he's played the long game, they've been together over two decades. he's more than earned it
Same as Tina Turner and Babs Windsor's husbands. It takes someone special to be Mr Collins/Turner/Windsor and be the man behind the woman but they all had staying power.

she is great, we saw her local tour, she came on, supported by Percy.

I get the feeling she likes to talk and maybe Percy stops her spilling all the beans, which is annoying of him. I though Louis spoke too much too. You can just let her talk, she's very entertaining.

There was another show on BBC which lasted a while where she recounted the story of her life, without interruptions she's something else.

I was around too! Hence I struggle to believe Joan was the innocent party every time.

I thought it was very good and L Theroux is brilliant.

looks absolutely stunning when she's "on" being interviewed in her house. Beautiful skin and beautiful features and very flattering wig.
When she's more au naturel and doesn't have the wig and lighting, when they're at the market, she looks more her age.

Gorgeous here and she was 68.

Still doesn't look ninety though!

Watching on I Player now. Ok ok i know its an older thread. Really enjoyable and insightful interview. Wow, 90! Stylish and so candid. That home in France is gorgeous. Her much younger hubby seems a lovely fellow.
