Keep Dabcing

It’s a shame really as both my children love the show, they know the names of all the pros and Celebs and who is paired up with who etc and we all went to Nottingham last year to watch SCD on stage.

However, when I’m trying to watch the show on TV, the last thing I want is them prancing around the living room trying to replicate the dance, laughing and screaming, talking over the feedback and scoring and asking me generally inane questions over and over again 😂

I just want to watch the show in peace 😂

They’re very excited about the Blackpool show tonight and I think I’m going to have to banish them to another room 😂

@BeingGivenMoney, can relate! My dd loves dancing along and we actually both put fancy frocks on (gotta love a bit of alliteration!) and dance away, but she's tiny so gets bored after a few dances and requests Meekah or something so I then re-watch later. It's surprising how much you miss...or not perhaps haha.

So did I, it's one of those dances I watch again from time to time.

We usually watch on iplayer or catch up because then you can watch the dancing and the judges comments without all the faffing about at a farm/fairground/primary school etc or wheeling in a nan for extra emotion!

I'm going out in about an hour for a very late lunch/early dinner, but come hell or high water, I'll be back, in front of the tv for Strictly.

I missed Sequin's run down of the dances this week, but imho every one's a choon. I cannot wait.

Layton's posted video of Vito and Fleur East's CC to destiny's child as his inspiration for tonight.

I liked Fleur, but that dance was just like a pop video. Not what I watch Strictly for.

I agree: I didn't actually like that CC much - too Pop Video for me too. And I didn't think Fleur did much actual dancing - lots of stomping and posing and facial expressions instead. Not a fan of that style for Strictly.

Completely agree. It reminded of Janet Jackson and that's not what I want to see on Strictly.

I loved that dance, but also agree it's not what I want on Strictly.

Fleur got 40 for her Blackpool CC, so he is obviously hoping for the same, and I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Really don't know how the rest of the leaderboard will pan out, but excited for tonight.

I think he's nailed on for a 40. There have been a few good couples choice but I'd rather they stuck to ballroom and latin. I'm showing my age 😂

No, I agree, CC is too often just a licence to tit about.
I bend to no one in my love for Krishnan, but his was plain baffling.
I will defend Bill and Oti's to the death, and Rose's for its importance, but other than those I wish they'd stick to something in a proper non-Latin/ballroom genre, like theatre jazz (not that anyone ever does that any more) and Bollywood (was Will Young's Bollywood? I seem to remember it being pretty good).

I think they should go back to the three categories for CC, like when it was first introduced. Otherwise it's just like a showdance, which takes away from when they actually do do a showdance.

The one that stands out for me is Faye and Giovanni's theatre jazz.

These are the only good CCs:

• Faye & Giovanni
• Bill & Oti
• Rose & Giovanni (mostly because of that beautiful moment)

Just hopping on to say totally agree re the kids and making it impossible to watch properly 😂 I’d love to be one of those families who all watch calmly together and have fun but my kids either ralk non stop, get fed up of boring night or get tired and moan loads. We started watching together when Dr Ranj was taking part but soon started to keep it off the tv and do Saturday evening dinner and bedtimes as normal then its mum time! I love this time of year a glass of something and utter peace (DH doesn’t like at all so disappears to watch things on iPad or play games). It’s utter bliss. Then if fun dances I’ll watch with kids in morning again (forwarding to just the dances).

means I always watch on catch up and vote prior to seeing the dances but last two weeks voting lines have closed so early I’ve missed it. Really want to vote for Annabel tonight. Love Ellie and hoping she gets a 40 tonight so she’ll be safe. I’ll be surprised if Layton doesn’t get a 40 for CC and Blackpool - it’s guaranteed surely!
