Ellie has done ballet, tap and other dance but not professionally as far as I know

I don't mind if Ellie is a ringer. I even expect to be voting for Layton by the finale.

I hope Krishnan gets through he was better then Angela R who did little in the way of dancing, Kai just moves her around…I fear for him if he is in a dance off against her as the judges are hell bent on getting Angela R to Blackpool

Another one who came late to the show last night but wanted to see what others had been saying. I was just saying to my H that Krishnan was what this show is all about - how he has come from nothing to this and enjoy his sheer joy at his dancing. Glad to see the judges agreed with me ! I don't get Layton and Nikita dancing together when for so much of it they are actually doing the same moves. It just feels unfair. It's more like synchronised dancing? I was impressed with the speed of Angela's feet but yes the leg lift is so tired and I can't see beyond the rigidity of her face and neck. Oh I do love a bit of Nigel especially when he is talking and does that lop sided smile and eyebrow - sadly no marks for that 😂. Annabel just doesn't have any sexiness in her no matter the costumes and amount of hair they add to her. It's like watching Bambi dance. I'm not a fan of Bobby as I think he is too young and boyish looking yet to pull off the dances. I don't get the criticism of Angela but then I'm no expert in hand movements. I'm loving Ellie. Sadly as I watched the programme from the beginning I missed the voting. Bah!

want to see the pros open the Final with a group dance to Cha Cha Cha.

Ellie didn't go to stage school (went to Fairfield High School). Was in Corrie from age 8. I've done ballet and tap as a kid, and I was rubbish, but if I did Strictly they'd say I'd got dance experience 😂

Thank you OP for clearing up the stuff about polls – of course, personal predictions are fine, but seeing Facebook polls, or whatever quoted here, does give a strong indication of what’s going to happen, so save it for spoilers.

Personally, I don’t get the hate for Angela R, I enjoyed her dance and voted for her. Krishnan - I love but has come to the end of the road. Nigel technically good but I just forgot all about and I don’t see going much further unless he ups his game and something about Angela S just doesn’t gel for me . Bobby sweet boy, but not as good as judges say IMO. Annabel is not a dancer but good on her. Layton, well whatever, so it’s Ellie all the way.

It is a dance show and she isn’t as good as others in some people’s opinion …doesn’t mean we hate her🤔.

It has been crystal clear from the off they wanted Angela R at Blackpool.

She has been massively over scored to save her in previous weeks…yes she’s doing well for her age but that’s not the show so someone who is better could go to ensure she makes it to next week!

I like Angela but I find her stiff, and Krishnan way more charming plus bringing the happy.

That’s more or less my thoughts too @Lentilweaver …Angela is stiff and stilted. Krishnan has a more upbeat vibe and giving it his best …

I think Angela R and Krishnan for dance off, and of course they will save Angela. I love Krishnan and he's done well but I would be fine with him going tonight

Annabel's samba was surprisingly good, I was ready to hide behind the cushion but she did well

Layton - well I don't massively warm to him, and he's definitely had his dodgy weeks, but that was spectacular. He really does put the work in and him and Nikita are fabulous together

Another shite outfit for Nigel but a great dance. He's brilliant at the side by side stuff, but it all seems to go a bit wrong in hold. I love that his wife buggered off to Paris with the neighbours instead of coming to see him 😁

I think Ángela R quite rightly for the dance off, she didn't do a great deal other then the bow ubiquitous leg raise, Kai did all the work.
I think Krishnan will avoid the DO because he is so popular.
I think it could be Angela R vs Angela S or Annabel but AR will annoyingly get through.
My favourite dance of the night was Ellie.

Same-sex couples do tend to do this in Latin a lot.

I do think occasionally it shows Layton up a bit (although the judges don't mention it), because it is such a direct comparison with another man who knows the technique brilliantly and doesn't have to think about it.

Last night, when they did a bit with their arms raised in hold, I wasn't sure you'd actually fit in Layton's. I didn't think it looked like Layton was imagining a woman (or man) in his arms, where for Nikita I could see somebody slotting in and dancing there.

@PolkadotsAndMoonbeams I did actually really enjoy their dance last night and yes you are right about the comparison. It's great to see Nikita in full force.

I’m hoping Bobby gets through. He is so disadvantaged by being paired with someone so much shorter than him.

I would have paired him with Lauren. She has a similar androgynous style and is nearer his age than Diane.

Personally, I don’t get the hate for Angela R

It's a dance competition.

She keeps being given slow dances.

She isn't a good dancer.

Yet the judges keep over-scoring her and last week they saved her when she was in the dance-off against a better dancer.

That's why.

@PrueRamsay I've often looked at Lauren and tried to imagine her with more hair. I can't help but think it's a disadvantage costume wise as she can't get all the extensions etc that add to the overall image but yes I do realise it doesn't affect the dancing. She always makes me think "flapper".

I have to admit, I thought Layton and Nikita's dance was stunning. I don't know how he did it, but Layton was literally light on his feet - in the lifts he looked like he weighed nothing at all, like gravity simply didn't apply to him.

I've been a huge Angela R supporter - I don't understand the complaints about her not being given a "fast one", she's nearly 80, and I for one have no desire to see her break a hip on live TV - but I agree she should be the one to go. Bless Kai, he was working so hard, but it was a very awkward dance.

Suspect they'll keep her in till Blackpool though, so we'll lose a better dancer tonight. Such a shame, I like everyone who's left. I even like Bobby, don't get the hate for me - he's such a sweetie and is doing brilliantly at controlling those endless limbs!

It's perfectly valid to criticise dancing on a dance show. The misuse of the term "hate" just serves to shut down discussions. I'm not a fan of Nigel, but I don't hate him and acknowledge he did well last night.

I really dislike how any criticism these days is seen as ‘hate’. You can’t hate someone you don’t know.

I dislike Layton being in the competition because it’s unfair imo. I don’t hate him. How could I? I don’t know him.

I don't like Bobby AT ALL and would like Angela R to go now, but hate? I reserve my hate for genocidal world leaders, not harmless slebs. Disliking someone's dance style or choreo is not hate.

There is no hate or even ageism for Angela R here, at least not tonight.

It's neither hate nor ageism to point out that the leg extension move that Kai keeps doing has run its course. There was very little dancing from Angela herself last night, and she even had Kai swishing her skirt for her, instead of doing it herself!

i admire Angela R . but I don't like how she has not done a fast dance and is over marked
