MAFSUK - thread 9 This matchmaking lark is quite tricky. When some are decidedly picky. They’ll meet for a blether, and then get together, but only because they’re so sticky.

The show might have lost its appeal
For some that won’t be a big deal
It may just be snark
But they have jumped the shark
With the return of one I and P Beale.

And nip flashing peg? Brace yersel.

So confused as to what Georges is supposed to have done? Why is Peggy convinced everyone hates him ?! He seems alright and she's dead behind the eyes.

Who refused to do the swap on MAFSAUS? Was it Harrison?

WhisperGold · 30/10/2023 22:35

Layton

Was it Layton and Mel that had to swap with Harrison and Brontë?

Layton

Ah yes.

PaddingtonsHat · 30/10/2023 22:37

I’m a bit confused. The message from the ixperts is that physical abuse is worse than emotional ( I’m looking at you Ella and JJ). Don’t worry everyone, it’s all ok as long as no one touches you 🤔

AtlasPine · 30/10/2023 22:44

I still find shit-stirring Jordan and Erica so hard to like, even though I agree Luke is entirely responsible for his own actions and needed to be removed.

UndercoverCop · 30/10/2023 22:47

@TicTacNicNak yeah physically not really my type, I like a tall man preferably with facial hair, but he's intelligent, sociable, confident, a bit silly but I don't mind that and he's clearly able to laugh at himself. It's definitely the pity that's tipping it over the edge though

I don't think they do shit stir though. I think the questions the producers set are brought up and Jordan tells it like it is whereas the others just sit back like gormless fools.

I'm rooting for them :)

I'm worried about Sean - he seems to be having some breakdown in front of our eyes

I wonder whether he cheated or something. He is acting like someone wracked with guilt.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 30/10/2023 23:03

Yes Luke is gaslighter/bully extraordinare

Yes he is. But how/when?!
Or drugs involved as a pp said. He did look horrific at the dinner party I think it was

I can’t get on board with Jordan and Erica. Several times they’ve provoked an angry reaction from others, and then when the person apologises they prefer to fester in their own indignation rather than accept the apology and consider reconciliation. They don’t want to let go of feeling aggrieved because it gives them power. And they wind each other up too.

The only person who saw through it and kept chill was Ella.

43ontherocksporfavor · 30/10/2023 23:07

Luke and Jay just walked in. Jay looks like David Brent! 😂
Love how Arthur is softening Laura.

They are not responsible for someone getting angry to the point of physically attacking Jordan just because he called Luke out on his bullshit. Plus they both had to live with domestic violence as children so found it very difficult to deal with.

Completely agree on that one.

He seems to have forgotten every conversation has been recorded, so we can all see his manipulation.

Hopefully Jay has realised her worth & left him, she could do much better.

Luke’s style icon.

Thank god that bully has gone! Jordan and Erica conducted themselves so well. Disgusting that the others swarmed around. Luke and left Erica and Jordan who had been attacked.

MouseMinge · 30/10/2023 23:20

Well, that was quite a show. A Tale of Two Gaslighters. Peggy is either very, very thick, the sort of thick that is bottomless, or a Machiavellian genius. It's definitely not the latter but I don't think it's fully the former either. None of the women said they disliked Georges, they said she didn't like him, he wasn't right for her, she does nothing but neg him and blah, blah, blah. Maybe Ella's words from a couple of weeks ago have stuck in her head and she's not moved past them. Maybe she's just a nasty little fucker who thinks that if she gaslights him she can pretend that she's the lovely lady who everyone really, really loves and that she has never done a thing wrong in her whole life. She is a bitch on wheels.

But Georges. Here's the thing, he does look broken, the pressure of living with a vampire of joy is getting him down but he still wants to stay. Why? Because it's another week on our TV screens. I don't believe what he says about having feelings for her. There is a personality void where there should be a person. It would be impossible to have feelings for that. Like the majority of them, he's there for the 'gram and the likes. If he looks like a poor lost boy who's having the life sucked out of him (but not the sperm, alas poor Georges) all the better for when he gets out and all the laydeez love sad George. So, I feel sorry for him, a bit, but he's also determined to see it out until the end. In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they'd planned the stay/leave thing between them, except that it seems a bit above Puritan Barbie's limited skills of playing the game. Maybe she's smarter than she looks.

Luke’s behaviour was completely his responsibility and he owned it.

But so far they’ve wound up Tasha, Ella and Luke. I wonder who will be next.

43ontherocksporfavor · 30/10/2023 23:22

I also think apologies need to be made without the guarantee they will be accepted.
