MAFSUK thread 8. Surprise Surprise. Only it isn’t. It is Only a Connection with a pair of New Faces. We’ve had The Chase. He looks Blankety Blank. It seems Pointless. One will give the other the Runaround. Then we’ll get a total wipeout.

Girls’ girl returns with Geppetto’s boy.

Great.

Also like popcorn meeting hot fat.

Explains lips.
Explains pompoms.

🤣

Grapefruitstars · 29/10/2023 15:44

Off subject but how tall do you think the girls are ? Peggy and Laura look tall. Especially Peggy she's very leggy. Tasha and Adrienne looks quite petite.

TitsInAbsentia · 29/10/2023 15:51

Google says Peggy is 5'10 which explains those long legs - she might be a dullard but she does have cracking pins! There was a photo of her next to Erica (upthread I think...) well, I didn't think Erica was small but she looks minute. Not a great photo!

I would like to think they wouldn't be unsupportive of such drastic plastics or outlandish behaviour, but having seen some of what's out there they would probably love to look like Ella if only they could get past the 'dress up' stage...

Laura is very attractive. She is always showing off her legs. I can’t say I blame her.

oh no, she's a girls girl😂

Marcipex · 29/10/2023 17:02

I really admired Bianca when she said ‘You’re not a girl’s girl if you go after someone else’s man.’

Yes, exactly that.

Grapefruitstars · 29/10/2023 17:06

Yeah I'd say Laura is Tallish. Erica does look small. Rozz looks averagish?

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 29/10/2023 18:22

I’m afraid the ones I know are very much against E-type neo ones.

All they ever wanted was to live their lives as women. Without bells, whistles and pom poms. Both are fully transitioned and are living happily. The very traditional community has welcomed them and are deeply protective. It did take a wee while.

They would no more scream ‘I’m a girls’ girl’ than the King would.

They don’t walk about in a bit of string and a gusset but a cardie and a skirt.

They would both be hugely upset if they ever offended women and seem to have modelled themselves on the women they have known rather than drag night at the harbour.

They have said they don’t feel any affinity with ones who talk the talk but, in their opinion, make no effort to actually walk as women but parade as peacocks .

They know in their hearts that they cannot change biology and seem to be simply content with changing their lives.

It may be a generational thing of course. They are of a similar age to me.

They are a world away from this version.

Bianca went seven words too far.

But my god she was just marvellous.

If I can manage another series (pray they go old school), I would love them to give Bianca a shot with someone lovely.

Yeah, it's been rubbish

They have had to release numerous spoilers to try snd keep the audience interested

Yeah - sex and violence.

Sunbird24 · 29/10/2023 18:50

There’s precedent with MAFSAUS bringing Elizabeth back on the next series…

@SheldonesqueTheBstard I wonder if the ones you know are ones I know of? If not I suspect they are at least very similar in their outlook.

Nogaxeh · 29/10/2023 18:57

Ella doesn't seem that much worse than several other people who have been on the show over the last three series, so I think she fits within what passes as the normal range of behaviour for modern MAFSUK.

I can't honestly say that there's much of a difference in behaviour between Ella and Nikita, for example.

I would have hoped that, after the Nikita experience, that the producers would have hoped to avoid a repeat, rather than looking for a replay. It's the sort of "drama" that I find very dull.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 29/10/2023 19:08

I’m not sure sunbird

Post the job I did have (you know the one!) and more to do with my job between then and this one.

I’ve known them for a good few years and I’m very fond of them both.

The ones I know of are/were in my current industry so maybe not then. Still, it does seem like middle-aged trans women are very different from Ella, but I wonder if that’s actually a generational and reality-tv-aspirational thing rather than a trans thing, given the amount of Botox and fillers we’re seeing across the board these days.

It feels like a vicious circle, as some youngsters will see these altered faces and bodies on their screens and think that’s what’s required for ‘success’. I’m hoping for an eventual backlash and a switch to valuing the beauty of individuality and imperfection.

PaddingtonsHat · 29/10/2023 19:21

The Botox and fillers and surgery and fakeness of ‘young people’ today is actually terrifying. How did it all go so wrong?

Very worrying indeed as no one knows the long term effect- We now know that breast implants can cause illness etc. It's worrying when people in their prime resort to so much to alter their bodies.

Lip filler is so normalised now, every idiot on the high street does it.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 29/10/2023 19:34

Sounds like different people sunbird although with similar outlooks.

I think you could well be right in that it could be generational and also to do with role models.

I get why people don’t want to age, go wrinkly, get droopy. Although it really isn’t the bad thing younger folk seem to believe it is.

I love seeing a life lived in faces without (heaps of) work.

I see so much more beauty in that than I do in a rigid coupon.

I don’t profess to know much about injectables/tweaks/surgery but I do think that it looks worse the longer you go on - and god only knows what it will all look like 30/40 years on. That makes me sad. Especially when the people were beautiful to begin with and they would have aged in a beautiful way.

I look at my mangled coupon and see the things I’ve survived. Endured. Laughed at. Scowled at. And as much as I don’t like some of it - and some is different to the face I was born with, it is my face.

It isn’t beautiful to me but it is to my mam. So that’ll do!

This! I know two trans women who are both well into their second decade of living as a woman. Both dress in a normal conservative way - both go to my church and are accepted by everyone.
There just seems to be a section of young trans women who think that women dress like drag queens!

My one trans friend is very similar to this. She's been transitioned including surgery for over 20 years, lives her life quietly, dresses appropriately and doesn't aspire to be any kind of parody.

mewkins · 29/10/2023 23:18

I'm caught up. They're all really annoying. Erica is the only one who is straight down the line. Even Georges talks more sense than the others.

Laura is awful. She IS condescending to Arthur (although I'd also find it painful speaking to him) and to pretty much everyone tbf.

RobynRB · 30/10/2023 15:00

I don't know if I can take any more, this serious has descended into farce. There's barely even the pretence of trying to find love or a marriage, as we've said before we don't know anything about any of them and the whole thing is manipulated to cause maximum drama and start fights. The last episode was so boring, I was barely watching it, and to be honest I was actually annoyed with myself for wasting an hour of my life I could have spent doing something else.

Stopbloodybanging · 30/10/2023 15:04

I’ve just caught up…….Peggy even eats primly! Like, “How dare you piece of bread enter my mouth. I’m going to chew you very slowly and into tiny little pieces for maximum pain and disapproval”.

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 30/10/2023 16:34

And then complain to the baker to say that the bread upset/traumatised/humiliated her teeth.

Either that or pull her teeth out with pliers because she couldn’t take them going up and down as that was too suggestive.

I’m the same robyn - I’ve seen it this far through though so I’ll soldier on. If they carry on in this stylee for future seasons I think I’ll want to give up.

They’ve made it mind-numbingly bad.

If this is what viewers want I’d be surprised.

If I were an expert? (Not that they seem to be)

I’d be trotting and picking up my shreds of dignity as I went.
