Yes that's it! I'm just falling down a Wikipedia rabbit hole now....

One of my very favourite characters was Donna, one of a long line of 'ditzy' receptionists- played by the fabulous Martha Howe-Douglas (Horrible Histories/Ghosts). I didn't like how they got rid of her, because it was quite out of character. (to do with patient records, iirc, and something to do with her son Taran?)

I can't believe how many posters have taken to this thread since the news of the axing broke yesterday. Closet Doctors fans. I wonder if the BBC fails to realise how many there are? They talk about viewing figures, but so far as I know, no one's ever checked what I've watched.

As for budget, it must pale into insignificance compared to what they lavish on Eastenders and I've never watched an episode of that. Doctors really is the poor relation of serial dramas isn't it, and yet the premise has so much promise.

I really feel as though there's potential for another channel or streaming service to pick it up and run with it.

I did a yougov survey this morning asking about what I watched yesterday. Made sure i ticked docTors.

They had better cheer Al up, before they end the programme. If my final memories of Al are of him bald and miserable, I will never forgive the writers.

Sid and Bear can disappear, along with Kirsty, Rosie and Nina.

I’ve realised due to fashions coming round again if they’d kept the outfits from the classic ones, they could have recycled them for the teenagers in the current one, that would have saved a few quid
