Anyone watch it on BBC tonight??

I liked it. Sick of having social justice/identity issues shoe horned into every tv show/movie/book though but this is what we are stuck with for the foreseeable I guess. Also absolutely love Jacob Anderson, right from his starting out in “Adulthood” so I will press on.

Me too! I've started watching old stuff again until this tedious phase passes. Rewatching Friends and Arrested Development currently. Very funny.

I absolutely loved it! Big fan of the books and I hated the Tom cruise film. Louis and Lestat are supposed to be lovers so there should be homo eroticism. Agree that putting it more into the future was a bit odd. Roll on season 2.

If I remember correctly, Anne Rice vampires can’t have sex at all, so they’re not lovers in that sense in the books.

I think Lestat is effing perfect and exactly how I imagined him these last 30 years! The reimagined Louis is great too. I think they did a great job and Anne Rice would be proud.

Louis is great, I agree! I think I read somewhere that Anne Rice had Julian Sands in mind for Lestat, but that wasn’t really how I pictured him when I first read them.

The scene at dinner where he's talking about his father! I was like, yep, they have read the source material and yep he is a really good actor!
As for criticising his accent, well, the actor did his audition in French so short of BEING French, I don't think you'd get better. And Lestat says his accent is odd himself due to living through different time periods.

I really want to like it more .it feel so much style over substance and sound was awful

The sounds was awful and struggled to get into it, really liked the first series so will try to watch it again

I've just binged both series. They were amazing! And whoever said there is no chemistry between Louis and Lestat? Are we watching the same show?! Their chemistry is electric 🔥
