If they just got rid of Gemma and her awful fucking gob I would be happy.

And she can take Chesney with her too, and the quads. Joseph can go live with posh granny, who I'm sure he would be much happier with.

MaePedwarGolau · 30/11/2023 12:46

Maybe Gemma can get sent to prison for poisoning children, never to be seen again, and Chesney can take all five kids to live with posh granny in Portugal or wherever she is. We can hope!

JellyBeanFactory · 30/11/2023 16:17

Where's Tim these days? Last we saw, he was traumatised by being locked in the boot of his cab by Steven. He and Peter should go off on Tiny Tim for a long hack together to get over their ordeal.

CyanCrystalViolet · 30/11/2023 22:14

What was the zooming in on the burgundy cardigan in the cafe all about?

I loved Shona’s upset at the thought of The Rover’s Cafe putting Roy’s out of business. There’s about four tables at Roy’s and there’s hardly anyone ever there anyway. Maybe if they built some flats on the site we’d see a bit more life in the street.

The Grandad Bailey story is ridiculous and I just don’t care.

On Classic Corrie Tyrone’s just been talking about his mum and how rubbish she was around Christmas, off her head. It’s like the current writers never watched it before they took over. Abysmal.

Ellenanora7 · 30/11/2023 22:44

Gemma Chesney and the kids should be rehoused in a nice four bedroom house some where very far away, there is absolutely no point to any of them, and they can't act for toffee, especially Chesney, he's bloody awful.

Bernice can stay though, she's brilliant 😁

I agree with all of this. Gemma is awful and the quads story is ridiculous.

Yes and it'll be the usual bland script.

Tyrone will say 'how could you, mam, with the girls around?'

Evelyn will say 'well what do you expect? I did warn you, but would you listen, oh no.'

Abi will say 'look, I'll get her to a meeting, give her a chance, it's an 'ard road she's on and sometimes it's two steps forward and one step sideways'

Hope will say 'don't send nana away, dad, pleeeease'

There’s a job offer from ITV in the post as we speak 😁

I can do the Gemma and Social Services scenes too if you want Grin

AutumnCrow · 01/12/2023 00:44

Social worker: Gemma, I'm afraid this is the third occasion where doctors have raised concerns about you and your parenting.

<Gemma gurns. Chesney gasps>

Gemma: Woh? Woh you talkin about? I'd never 'urt me kiddies. Nevva.

Chesney: That's true, that is. She's brilliant with them kiddies.

Social worker: Well, the normal procedure at this juncture would be to carry out an Initial Assessment under the common assessment framework and at worst place the children on child protection plans with additional support around parenting, housing and benefits, but because it's you, Gemma, I'm going to take them all immediately into care. All of them.

<Gemma hangs gob open. Chesney gasps>

<Mournful trombones play in the distance over soot-stained chimney pots>

eggandonion · 01/12/2023 08:21

Yes please!

Itham · 01/12/2023 09:11

Gemma's make up is obviously meant to look terrible and it does. The orange foundation that ends in a wobbly line around her jaw is mesmerising.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 01/12/2023 09:15

The never closed jaw. God that open mouth would have my fist in it if I were there.

Summermeadowflowers · 01/12/2023 09:59

It’s a really unpleasant way of presenting the ‘working class’ as well. I find it really uncomfortable to be honest. I think Gemma and chesney are supposed to be presented as salt of the earth types but it skirts very close to acceptability to me with Gemma bellowing every line given to her.

bizzey · 01/12/2023 10:03

No one's mentioned how lovely George was with Liam 🥰!

I hope this bullying storyline ends soon.
It really is uncomfortable to watch.
But all credit to the Mason actor for making us hate him so much !!

Not sure how old he is ..but I hope he is not going to get RL online bullying .

eggandonion · 01/12/2023 13:43

George is lovely. I wish he could live in his own house like Audrey does. I think it is time for Todd to settle down with a nice partner in a nice apartment. Or a house share with Sarah.
And sean and Dylan might like to move to Birmingham or somewhere.

Hellendegenerate · 01/12/2023 14:06

@bizzey yes George and his little chat with Liam was touching. If only Liam can find the courage to tell Gary and his mum. 😕

eggandonion · 01/12/2023 16:21

Gary might murder Mason though.

Agreed! It all smacks of "middle class" perspective of how the working class live. I half expect the quads to be sent to work up chimneys soon.

TellingBone · 01/12/2023 20:10

Eh? Would the SW speak to a parent in front of a child like that?

Looking spookily accurate.

No, and unlikely to be just ambushed in the hospital, it would be a proper formal meeting with Gemma present. So strange.

greengreengrass25 · 01/12/2023 20:22

Wouldn't the tacky tree be knocked over in 2 secs. Thought they were skint but loads of Christmas tat knocking around

greengreengrass25 · 01/12/2023 20:24

The triplets are totally ignored

AutumnCrow · 01/12/2023 20:30

I am very pleased that Caitlyn From Child Protection has intervened to prevent any further cracker jokes and fake laughing, which went on for rather too long, and I imagine the actors are too.

Neverinamonthofsundays · 01/12/2023 20:31

At least Gemmas mouth was open for a reason this time.
