I was so excited to have Neighbours back and I loved it in the first week but for me it's gradually gone downhill and I'm struggling to feel enthusiastic.
Karl and Susan, pillars of the street, central/main characters, have hardly been in it so far and don't seem to have a storyline running. Susan was shopping a lot, very briefly.
The new family, the boys seem like they can go on to have interesting storylines, but there's no chemistry between the parents. One of them walks around holding tools a lot, just to emphasise that she's a tradie. Every time someone says "Ma" I cringe a bit.
Why does Mackenzie never go to work?
The Rodwells need a proper storyline. Dad Rodwell needs some crime to investigate. Wendy and Sadie need something to do.
Toadie and Therese, sigh, it's really hard to believe that Toadie, who has been a very diligent parent, would separate from a wife, get together with someone else presumably straight away, marry her and move him and his kids into her house all within the space of a year. Melanie is announced as a returning character so she'll be back soon, and Therese is still flirting around Paul, so its obvious how this will play out - just seems a pointless marriage storyline for the sake of creating a drama for the first episode.
