And is there going to be a Baby Bear?

OP posts:
Raahh · 02/10/2023 14:38
Grin

I was wondering if we will see as more of Rob in the future? Claudia might vanish.

There will be storyline set in the station if Emma is going back to being an FME too- but a lot of Rob's stuff revolved around his home life with Karen Sad. And fishing.

At least when Scarlett was at the house, that was an excuse to see him. Is he still teaching her to drive, I wonder?

doctorsnoddy · 02/10/2023 17:16

Just catching up. Bear could easily be a stay at home dad as he seems to be able to do his job in two hours a week or so.

FuzzyPuffling · 02/10/2023 17:54

I don't want Bear to have a cub, as DD2 in utero was known as "Cub".

OCaledonia · 03/10/2023 06:45

Oh shooby doo, I wanna be like you oo oo
That's for whoever said Bear Cub, I've now got the Jungle Book song in my ears 😂

Ridemeginger · 03/10/2023 07:27

Does Bear still live with Sid? They could probably co-parent quite realistically dysfunctionally. Sid has got down trodden mother written all over him. He'll be working all hours, then coming home, doing all the shit work, making sure the bottles are sterilised, and freezing cubes of nutritionally perfect baby puree, all whilst pulling a put upon, fed up Sid face. Bear will be Disney Dad, only doing his bit on Saturday mornings, sauntering down the high street in his Rupert trousers, the Cub in a sling sleeping cutely (for once), buying artisan sourdough and dolling out crinkly eyed winky smiles at the shop ladies and Mill patients, who will all coo and tell him how special he is because their husbands never did anything.

Raahh · 03/10/2023 07:32

Ride it would be like some terrible Brummie 70s sitcom, wouldn't it ?

'2 men and a babby'.

We should pitch it.

Ridemeginger · 03/10/2023 07:49

Ha ha, @Raahh the actors will need to channel the power of the mighty Richard O’Sullivan to pull it off with an appropriate level of cheesy 70s charm; however, the the role of “older female friend or neighbour” a la Mildred Roper, giving our boys a bit of acerbic banter to deal with and “helpful advice” (but no practical help whatsoever) has Emma Reid written all over it.

Raahh · 03/10/2023 07:55

Oh definitely- we are onto a winner Ride.

There are enough retired Brummie thespians out there who can make guest appearances.

Ride and Raahh- we'd win a BAFTA.

RockaLock · 03/10/2023 08:06

@Raahh and @Ridemeginger that is a better storyline than anything the actual writers will come up with!

doctorsnoddy · 03/10/2023 08:11

I wonder if the cast and writers read this thread? Maybe we've given them some fresh ideas!

Ridemeginger · 03/10/2023 08:18

Hmm think you may be overreaching with the BAFTA, Raahh. Remember the raw material we have to deal with. Sid has practically one expression, and Bear’s crinkly eyes will only get us so far. The inevitable cuteness of the Cub might garner a TVQuick award.

Raahh · 03/10/2023 08:45
Grin yes, I think I got carried away.

I think maybe a more local award might be more likely. Grin

Raahh · 03/10/2023 08:46

I'm not sure 'costume design' would be winning anything, either Grin

martinisforeveryone · 03/10/2023 11:51

Well I'm quite sold on that, although, in reality, I want Claudia to stick with her decision. Even though it's only a programme, it made my blood boil when Bear turned the emotional screws of 'I've been here before' so many kinds of wrong there.

I'm not on board with the Zaniel drama, we know he's going, just get on with it please and also Al. I don't like him like this, I want him back to normal and I'm getting impatient.

Raahh · 03/10/2023 13:30

martini oh, fun as it is , I completely agree that I hope Claudia stuck to her guns. Bear was awful yesterday. Angry.

The Zaniel stuff is drawn out and I hate what they are doing to Al- even if the actor will probably says it's great to play a different side to his character etc. Bring back th e old Al!

Ridemeginger · 03/10/2023 13:46

I agree. I'll be very impressed if the writers/producers allow Claudia to stick to her guns and terminate. I can't think of any programme I have watched where this has happened, despite the strong pro women/pro choice message that has been made.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/10/2023 13:47

I can't imagine Al having floral curtains.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/10/2023 13:49

Sparkly sister is desperate to get rid of Dressing Gown sister, isn't she?

Raahh · 03/10/2023 13:49

I like that robot seems at home.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/10/2023 13:51

Sparkly woman is her mum. What a rubbish parent!

Raahh · 03/10/2023 13:52

Online shopping exists.

why would he need to go out?

Raahh · 03/10/2023 13:54

The mother is lovely. Hmm.

Binglebong · 03/10/2023 13:54

That mum is a bitch. I'm about 5 minutes behind.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/10/2023 13:55

I hate GolfBuddy. He's an amalgam of every mantwat everywhere.

Ridemeginger · 03/10/2023 13:56

Daniel keeps pleasant company amongst the misogynist class. Is he going to run off and become a men's rights activist? He'll be dressed as Superman and hanging off Birmingham Town Hall demanding to see his son before you know it.
