And is there going to be a Baby Bear?

OP posts:

Poor Al is going to be paranoid like Val was when someone broke into her house.

Didn't that happen to Heston too? I seem to recall him arming himself with a baseball bat

Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:03

What a cheery song.

Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:04

Doctors yes, that's when he whacked Curtis with the baseball bat and had to move into Juuuuuuliaaaas's house.

FuzzyPuffling · 28/09/2023 14:04

It reminds me a bit of my Granny's favourite..
" Mama what is that on the road
That looks like strawberry jam?
Hush hush, my child, it is Papa
Run over by a tram"

doctorsnoddy · 28/09/2023 14:06

I still think Nina's brave not getting him a brain scan.

Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:06

Actually I think it was a cricket bat. Which would be more Heston's style.

Fuzzy Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 28/09/2023 14:09

Al's kept the woolly robot then!

FuzzyPuffling · 28/09/2023 14:10

You are ill. Name two people you don't want pestering you.
Answer: Rosie and Bear.

doctorsnoddy · 28/09/2023 14:10

No Al the Mill will manage without you. After all it has zero patients

Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:11

I'm glad he's kept the robot.

Jimmi looked quite scary, looming in the background.

Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:12

Al had better not be leaving.

The programme can't lose any more characters- and definitely not a good one.

Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:13

Talking of leaving-

SOD OFF- DANIEL!

VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji · 28/09/2023 14:14

There’s no way that’s al’s house. He’d already have ring doorbells, cctv etc. he’s a gadget man, he would be all over that. There’s also too many soft furnishings.

Grin im not sure I’d want any of the drs looking after me. sid looks like he’s always unsure and like a bunny in the headlights
Raahh · 28/09/2023 14:17

His house would also be strewn with empty pizza boxes Vegetables.

Yes! More takeaways, more gadgets and more lights. The kitchen would be clutter free and empty apart from the leftover takeaway stuff. Maybe a home brew kit knocking around

FuzzyPuffling · 28/09/2023 17:35

He would also have a life sized wookiie (sp?) by the sofa.

Raahh · 28/09/2023 17:44

Fuzzy true- and a cabinet of memorabilia from whatever sci-fi show he likes.

(I did like the film poster on the wall-but that wathe only real nod to his 'geekiness').

Obviously the budget on Doctors does not not stretch to having the kind of technology/screens/tv and audio equipment that someone like Al would almost certainly have in real life.

Nina is really annoying. I'm not sure what it i about her - I think it's her voice. And attitude. And just about everything about her.

I think I know what it is - she has a rather unusual affectation of closing her mouth tight as soon as she stops talking, even if she then goes on to say something else. It looks a bit unnatural, as the usual tendency is to leave the lips slightly parted if you're still talking. Once you see it you can't unsee it. I don't know if she did it in her Cilla days, but we'll soon find out as she's about to turn up on Classic Corrie in a few weeks' time!

FuzzyPuffling · 28/09/2023 20:34

Good point Tellytubby. That's so true.

Raahh · 28/09/2023 20:41

I think it's a case of trying to be as far removed from Cilla as she could get. Only it has had the effect of making her sound far more fake than if she had stuck with an even vaguely 'natural' accent.

doctorsnoddy · 28/09/2023 21:34

Just catching up on Tuesday's episode. Bear and a mystery GP doing a VPAS visit! No such thing exists! Bear should be far too busy doing his day job!

Raahh · 29/09/2023 07:17

doctors I didn't understand it- at no point when Gobby and Val used to roam off on VPAS visits, (and when Scarlett started doing them) was there mention of this other bloke, (and he's just retiring, and had been in the job years he said) or an outside trainer. The training for the fake initiative Grin seemed to be done amongst themselves.

Raahh · 29/09/2023 07:19

Bear doesn't know what his 'day job' is though. He seems to be confusing it with his personal life, and disappearing midday for a heart to heart with his girl friend (who will have left before Christmas- if not way before).
