Just caught up with Thursday's episode and found myself thinking that maybe Kirsty's acting isn't so bad after all! What's wrong with me?!

She's been really quite dull- a very pointless addition. And I was hoping for a bit of a back story, something has been off about about her since she started - she seems so fake - but so far nothing.

I also hope Suni stays.

Ah, there you are, I have failed to keep up with the threads or indeed the programmes, but have been to London today and downloaded this week's to binge on the train, just finished now.

I am starting to hate Daniel again. How dare he drink drive with Joe in the car and then tell him to lie about it. Agree that Kirsty has been better in these last couple of episodes.
And hooray for Nina leaving, she really hasn't added anything. But most of all I want Al to get better.

I am hoping that Al makes a full recovery- because we know that Daniel is leaving, and now Nina, so surely they can't be losing Al as well? (and that would be a lot of cast members in one year).

I am happy for Kirsty to improve, if we lose Nina. Even Rosie isn't annoying me a much as she used to (they seem to have forgotten the possible dementia storyline they started with her).

I can't wait to see the back of Daniel really, though him leaving may make Zara even more annoying for a while.

I am very cross about the drink driving thing, and hope he gets what is coming to him.

They really can't let him get away with the drink driving. The police officer too, just because her mum liked Al.

I agree we can't lose Al, it would be too many Doctors leaving at once. And he's a great character. Maybe we will get some nice new ones.

Good, that character just hasn’t worked. If only Kirsty and Ollie were off out of the door after her too.

It's a bit odd, isn't Nina a partner? If Daniel is leaving, and Nina, that leaves them in a hole (unless Suni takes over). I do wonder if it was always the case, or if the writers/producers actually paid attention to the fact the character was really not well liked, so have got rid sooner rather than later?

I did wonder that too, whether they’re cutting their losses and getting rid now. Sure I read somewhere the other day that a new doctor is joining soon but I can’t for the life of me find it now, but it now makes sense seeing as they’ll be two doctors down soon (even though there are rarely any patients).

Perhaps Emma and Jimmi will get bigger storylines again now, they have both been quiet for a bit. I saw that Emma is going back to being an FME. They can't really make either of them a partner though and Al doesn't seem as though he would want that responsibility even if he does make a soap-style super quick recovery.

Equally I doubt Jimmi would want to be a partner again (and he gave his money away to his ex)- Emma sulked when they didn't ask her previously, but I'm not sure she will want to do it either. I don't think Al would want it- and Sid would just use it as a reason to complain he wasn't asked, but would be useless anyway.

It amazes me that they have so little staff- but they all have 'extra curricular' stuff going on- 2 are/were FMEs- and Jimmi does counselling as well. Zara has just been doing the university stuff. Daniel was at the Clink for a while. Sid is the paramedic you least want in a crisis. Emma does radio stuff as well- I think there is only Al, who (I think) doesn't have an official 'extra' role. Even Suni works at St Phils.

Whoever they do get to replace Nina and Daniel- I hope the hiring process is a bit more thorough than 'met them in a loo during an explosion'.

Well, quite. They didn’t even want Nina anyway, she strong-armed her way in as a partner.

Do GP surgeries ever have ‘silent’ partners, where she could leave her money in the business and maybe Sunni or Bear could be her proxy decision maker? Even if it’s not a done thing in reality, they could storyline it. That still leaves a gap when Daniel goes though, so keep our fingers crossed for an interesting new addition that works for us.

Raahh, yes, that's what I was thinking re Jimmi and Emma, previous storylines mean they just can't do it. I'd forgotten about Sid - he is probably rich enough to buy the whole practice. But Zara would eat him for dinner. I hope they don't have a repeat of their fling.

Sid and Zara was the least convincing fling ever, wasn't it ?
