verything. The premise, the writing, the acting, the clothes, the wigs, the EVERYTHING.E

That it was a Levy family creation.

Laughing out loud every single time.

I'd vaguely heard the title, but had never seen it til now - just seen two episodes a night and the final two last night.

The wedding.

The leaving.
🥲

I love the casual references to their previous life, something like:
Jared Leto gave me this jumper.
Or
You try running away from Afghanistan kidnappers in six-inch heels.
Grin

They're brilliant.. Yeah yeah David and me and Ryan Gosling just went for bubble tea 😂

Apparently Dan Levy was lined up to be a Ken but couldn't commit to filming in the UK or something.

TiredandLate · 27/10/2023 11:01

I love it. I've watched it quite a few times and dp has watched it twice with me. It's one where the second watch is better than the first and I still hear new lines/references each time.

TrustPenguins · 29/10/2023 20:32

Still can't believe the actress who plays Moira is the mum in Home Alone!

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 29/10/2023 20:35

I'm unable to say the name David without sounding like Alexis.

mincepieandcustard · 29/10/2023 20:46

I'm another one who wasn't sure at first but by end of series one was hooked and by the end of all of it was devastated it had to end!

When stevie sing her song in cabaret, omg I bawled like a baby!
All of the characters are just superb.
Agree with pp, David and Patrick best tv couple ever.

Oh now I need to go rewatch it again!

crumblingschools · 29/10/2023 20:47

@ChardonnaysBeastlyCat do you add ‘eww’ before saying David?

LadyGeorginaSmythe · 29/10/2023 21:00

I watched it straight through myself and DH would catch bits of it and get drawn in. So maybe a year after I finished it we binge watched it together
... just as funny the 2nd time and I could definitely watch again. Simply brilliant TV with perfect casting and genius writing. I loved it.

I manage to restrain myself. So far.

NashvilleQueen · 29/10/2023 21:30

It's a show with a huge amount of heart and the development of the characters is brilliant.

I especially love moira doing the fruit wines ad.

ChocoChocoLatte · 29/10/2023 21:45

It's bloody brilliant and am making DH watch it now so I can rewatch it.

So many brilliant memes too LOL

LunaNorth · 29/10/2023 22:00

I love everything about it.

I adore David and his knits. I fancy him a bit, there, I said it.
I love Moira and her wall of wigs, her sleep waistcoats and her syntax-mangling.
I love Johnnie’s incredulous eyebrows.
I love Twyla’s face. I think she’s an actual Angel from Heaven.
I love Stevie, and when she blossoms as Sally Bowles it makes me cry.
I love how Jocelyn manages to be warm and kind but take No Shit.
I love that the Jazzer Gals are properly great. It would be so easy to make them crap, but it doesn’t go for the cheap laughs.

The only character I can’t get on with is Ted the vet. I wanted him to get eaten by a giant tortoise in the Galapagos.

beastlyslumber · 29/10/2023 22:06

I've watched it straight through like five times! Love it. So much heart.

Eww David!

"These wines are AWFUL... bring me another " 😂

It's one of my favourite scenes.

Womencanlift · 30/10/2023 12:29

Another one who tried a few times to get into it as friends kept saying you have to watch it. This time it seemed to click and now on series 5

Love that Annie Murphy wrote A Little Bit Alexis and watched Paris Hilton’s tv show for inspiration for the song

JFDIYOLO · 31/10/2023 12:57

Eiwwwww Deevedduh ... Is the closest I can get to how Alexis says 'David ...'

OP posts:
CointreauVersial · 31/10/2023 13:05

I'm another one who struggled with the first couple of episodes, but we kept going, and ohhh, it turned out to be one of the best things I've seen in years.

I think the wine-tasting scene is my favourite. "Now I'm getting notes of tomato". And we always do Bob's ridiculous hand-flappy walk.

EddieHowesShithousingMags · 31/10/2023 23:58

Isn’t it funny how not many people seemed to like it at the start. I tried to get into it two or three times and got through the first series piecemeal. I eventually went back to it and tried again, something hooked me in and that was it. I adore David and Alexis. Two such well acted characters. And to the pp who fancies David. I’m with you.

CanIPetThatDawg · 01/11/2023 00:05

Couldn't get into it at all. Found it a chore.

DonPeggyJoan · 01/11/2023 10:29

David is very fanciable I agree!

JFDIYOLO · 01/11/2023 12:36

When it was on two a night recently my OH and I, as responsible mature adults with like businesses and everything, would say to each other 'shall we Schitt? Fancy a Schitt? Another Schitt?' So proud.

Same. For ages. Just had it on as background noise....and then it just clicked!

Floralovesflowers · 01/11/2023 17:24

Watched 1st episode & decided not for me then several months later after friends (& MN) said how brilliant it was tried again.

Omg, we couldn't stop watching it, absolutely brilliant. I felt a bit lost after the final episode, like I'd seen a friend for the last time may have she a tear

backtowinter · 01/11/2023 17:34

Yet another one here that struggled through the first couple of episodes.

I didn't like Roland (not a fan of the actor) but the whole thing just pulls you in

One of the best shows I've ever seen

Love David. Love that Moira's
"girls" all have names. Love Alexis tales and adventures

And yes to the pp who mentioned Bob's walk

Hearmenow23 · 01/11/2023 17:34

See you back here in 12 months? 😁
