Ghosts Series 5 - TV pace, no spoilers

What do you want find out in the final series of Ghosts? Sad (sad that is it the last series)

I want to know why Pat always references France/French - I think he used to get the CDs from the Daily Mail on how to teach yourself french and had day-trips to France

If Alison and Mike's baby can see ghosts

Will Alison find out it was Julian who pushed her out of the window?

More Barclay and Bunny - no question, just like them both and want to see them in series 5

When will the next series start - I assume mid-November with final episode at Christmas 😃😭

I want the captain and kitty's stories further explored. I'd actually like a new ghost for them but that seems unlikely. Perhaps we could flashback to somebody else subsequently sucked off?
And I'd like more weddings using it as a venue. That was good fun.

Well one interesting finale would be Alison joining them as a ghost. Sorry that's a bit dark! Oh god maybe it'll be Barclay or Bunny who carks it while on the premises?

I definitely think we have to have more drip feed of Kitty's story and we absolutely have to get the Captain's, finally. Thomas being sucked off would prompt quite a lot of good jokes. Did the ring a roses girl get phased out or does she still have the potential to pop up?

I wasn't aware there was a baby on the way though, that is a rich seam of storylines in itself!

I can imagine the final scene being Robin on his own, first and last.

I think it would be more poignant if Mike joined them as a ghost and Alison can still see him but maybe too much given it's generally it's quite an upbeat sitcom

As the writers decided that this would be the last series, instead of it not being renewed, it's definitely going to have to have a finish, which has to mean than all moving on to their next stage in some way.

The only way a can see that happening is if all the ghosts get sucked off at once - I'm imagining an episode where they all resolve whatever is keeping them there and at the end Alison brings home her new baby who they all meet and then get sucked off.

However, that seems like a sad ending for Alison, so whether they could all, right at the end, get un-sucked off and explain that their idea of heaven is being in the house together - but I think that's more me not really wanting it to end.

I've read elsewhere that all episodes will have been released by the time the book comes out on October 26th. I suppose there might be stuff in it that alludes to story lines in series 5, so the TV show would have to have been released beforehand.

This might be a load of old bollocks though 🤷

The only real details released are that due to being extremely broke, there's a focus on Mike and Alison's new ways of making money after the fire and there are plenty of surprises.

I hope there's a Christmas special to finish and I assume we will get a death back story for Kitty and the Captain.

BFI is 18th September , book launch events 29th October. Presumably series 5 starts towards end September, but no Christmas special announced.

Oh that would be a lovely end: flash forward to Allison and Mike dying together in a bizarre gardening accident in their eighties, joining the ghosts and their grandchild coming to live there and seeing them. Obviously that's against the canon version of events which has being sucked off as a happy ending.

I'm a recent convert and am still catching up.

Over the summer we went on a location tour at West Horsley Place in Surrey where it is filmed, which I would thoroughly recommend.

Why has it been cancelled? It is such a funny series that everyone can watch. My dc love it.
