I kept an eye on rhe scores over night- I was glad to see Big Foe win. The Ben /big Foe math will probably be on too late for me to 'watch' but the atmosphere will be great.

Brad Gilbert hasalways been an odd bloke, and I think he's had that hat for years. It's certainly a look. Sad that Caroline's run ended- but I would love to see Coco do well-and Caroline's probably needs to get out of her wet suit.

I like what I've seen of Stricker - he's definitely more Swiss Farmer than a Federer type but he seems really nice.

Iga still unable to get past Ostapenko - it's an upset, since she's the defending champ, but not at all unexpected. She's an unpredictable one, Jelena and Iga finds her tricky to read, it seems.

Less said about the Fig eating one, the better- though Gojomojodojo looks like ( from the scoreline at least) that he kept it close for a couple of sets.

Iga’s loss means she’s no longer number 1 - Aryna will now be number 1. Iga needed to get further in the US open than Aryna to hang on to her number 1 ranking but obviously that’s now over.
