I just felt so bad for the woman who called in the middle of the night because she fell and couldn't get up ☹️☹️☹️☹️

I was hoping they'd update oh her. I was worried about her doing herself more damage in trying to get up her self. Hope they got there a bit quicker than they thought.

About seven years ago I found the old boy who's newspaper I delivered on the floor... It was about 9am. I called his brother and sister in law who called an ambulance. It eventually arrived to pick him up about 3pm in the afternoon. He lay there waiting all that time. His brother rang 999 several times but it didn't make any difference.

Just watching now. I was a bit surprised when the family said that he was known to be end of life. That they didn't have a DNAR or an end of life plan. Unless they just panicked.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/09/2023 21:21

Aww that gorgeous baby!

Elderflower14 · 15/09/2023 20:33

Now watching last night's episode. The lady Elizabeth who kept calling must be incredibly frustrating for the ambulance staff.

That's because there aren't enough staff and ambulances.
Cat. 1 cases have to take priority.

They have to attend.
Despite knowing there's nothing wrong.

So so sad about Norman 🥺

knickerbockergloria123 · 17/09/2023 01:28

I've always liked this show, but it is getting more politicised every week with the weekly rant about what is wrong with the system, justifying strikes and so on

Jumpitha · 18/09/2023 00:27

Should they just pretend that lives are not at risk because of the lack of funding?

What about
miss management
inefficient process
abuse of the system
people taking no responsibility for there own health
They waste millions each year
they lose millions to fraud
until we get past simply blaming funding the service will remain fucked

all the above are interlinked and with out addressing these more funding won’t improve it

Ikeepmybumcheekshidden · 18/09/2023 08:11

Yeah that fake scripted chitter chatter at the end is a bit cringe. Isn't it bordering on a breach of confidentiality?

Ikeepmybumcheekshidden · 18/09/2023 08:11

*the end of each visit/patient

Rainbow1901 · 18/09/2023 08:14

One of my nieces is a paramedic and she said that chat between the call centre and crews rarely happens.
On another note, while I'm all for care in the community there are some cases when some people need to be in a 'cared for' environment. It makes no difference that they are old or depressed or disabled or whatever - they are unable to look after themselves properly and the strain on the NHS and the Ambulance service is massive. This really needs looking at properly.

Which bit are you thinking is a breach of confidentiality?

Because it is not a documentary about the NHS - it is fly on wall about the day in the lives of a paramedic. IF they started talking about that stuff, yes I would say it had become political - but to just say "the show is getting more politicised" as the crews are talking about why they are striking as it is affecting their every day lives (I know it wasn't you that said that).

Toddlerteaplease · 22/09/2023 22:19

Was shocked to see the man with some sort of post ? Meningitis issue. (Can't remember his name) died a few months later.

I agree, it's so fake and shoe horned in, it's started to detract from the programme.

pinkchampagne1 · 23/09/2023 10:13

I was really saddened and shocked to see that young man died too. Seems he developed a clot. He was only 24, the same age as my eldest son. 😞

Agree with this.

This used to be a must-watch programme but I've not watched beyond the first episode of this series because of the forced political narrative.
