Thought last night a bit flat for a season finale, but in general am fully on board and roll on Season 3.

Think the Samantha thing was a mistake - either do it well, or don't do it at all, she's not that vital. Would have rather had all four back together, but Seema filling her gap well enough.

Outfit of the night was LTW's dinner party outfit - clearly utterly ridiculous, but she wears OTT ridiculous very well. Miranda's dress absolutely fabulous, in a more mainstream way.

To whoever said, they thought actors would riff against each other in a phone scene, no, never, even if they were the best of friends – logistics of production just don’t allow that. Actors are perfectly used to talking into her phone with no one at the other end. Kim was just having a laugh, banking 1 million dollars for a morning’s the Instagram fight shows, she obviously loads SJP. Who is in the right and who is in the wrong we will probably never know either way the cameo added nothing. The Aiden cliffhanger is just ridiculous. He’s living in Virginia, not the moon, why on earth, can’t Carrie visit once a month at least? My hope for the next season is that all the allegations against Chris Noth, which have never been proven are dropped and then he returns from the dead like Bobby in Dallas, then we will have a nice juicy love triangle again

There was an interview with Kim Cattrall on Piers Morgan where she came over really well & very dignified. She kept on saying ‘I just wished she could have been kinder’ about SJP. Who knows exactly what went on but I’m not sure KC is a brat.

Agreed, @Enriquetta . The show makers mentioned several times in the Succession podcast that the cast there actually did act on the phone for each other's benefit and that this was unusual. Without giving away too much of the plot of Succession, there is a major, major scene that takes place with most of the cast on a boat in New York and the rest of the cast on a plane. Matthew McFadyen is on the plane phoning the cast in New York. When they shot the boat scenes, Matthew was back at home in the UK. But he stayed on the phone all day/night UK time to allow the actors to speak to him during their filming. Not the norm.

We will never know what went down between the 4 leads during SATC. KC may have created a ludicrous list of demands to shoot that cameo hoping HBO would go 'oh in that case maybe we'll leave it' but why not, I say. I will be remembering the list if anyone begs me to return to a job I hated from 15 years ago - not speaking to former colleagues would be very high up the list.

I still remember feeling shocked when I read KC's instagram post from February 2018, a few months after the interview with Piers Morgan. That level of hostility towards a former colleague -"You are not my family. You are not my friend. Stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore your 'nice girl' persona" is pretty unheard of in showbiz, I think? I note she's not deleted the post.

How old is LTW supposed to be? Quite a late pregnancy?

Yes she came across as a very lovely and humble woman with PM. I think she’s fab!

In fairness, SJP messaged a really cold and empty message about KC’s dead brother. A brother who went missing and was found dead in the woods IIRC. I can’t believe marine KC would be in the mood for false platitudes.

The actress is 53 but perhaps the character is meant to be late 40s. I know someone who got pregnant (naturally) at 48, so it does happen!

So I guess entering menopause but not through it. Remember in S1 when Carrie and Miranda had both been through but Charlotte got her period after thinking she was done? So I guess LTW is 3-4 years younger, maybe

Yes, agree. It was very much shoehorned in to the episode (like Samantha’s ‘appearance’). As if they don’t have cleaners/housekeepers/concierge who do everything anyway? Harry doesn’t seem to ever be at work these days anyway? Anyway, the scenes without their kids were meant to show that Harry and Charlotte are still great together, their marriage has survived the full-on parenting years.

Meantime, Brady is still cycling up and down the promenade like a bored teenager, so he can conveniently see his parents together (but I loved that Miranda and Steve scene- even the way it was filmed).

Has Steve shrunk BTW?! Miranda was always taller than him and I always thought they looked awkward together but when she was rubbing his back it looked from behind like she was rubbing a child’s back.

He’s definitely got more parody of NYC with his accent

Surely both couples are mega rich so why not employ people to help with the kids? Though Rock could sod off with the forgotten book!

Lisa works in a really busy job so I think it’s fine she moans about the mental load but yes why they don’t just employ a nanny I’ll never know!

So Carrie isn't allowed to go near Aidan for 5 years because he would think about her too much and would forget he has kids? Sure...

And poor Cathy- not only is she described as a deficient parent, but Aidan mentions he's spent the whole time with her pining for Carrie.

Always found Aidan passive aggressive but he's aged worse than I expected.

It certainly wrapped up a few characters who don’t need to return in S3. It took until the final episode for me to actually laugh at a Che comment- about Carrie saying more than one word. Literally the funniest thing they have said since S1. But defo a good junction for Che to exit (I’m sorry for the actor that the Che hate is still there, always thought they were great in GA). Bye, Bye Che S3?

Controversially, I’m going to say Naya had a nice story conclusion and has felt like an extra this series, who was initially contracted to be Miranda’s gf but that didn’t work out so they’ve had to write in the odd scene for her. Bye, bye Naya S3?

Aidan- think they’ll be references to Carrie popping to see him, but she’ll meet ‘a Big’ next season. I still worry about the kitten care I ask again, where is the cat litter tray been kept in the small apartment? plus the cliche of the cat lady, think a dog would have worked better. I think we’ve all picked up on the responsibility parallels between Carrie’s cat and Aidan’s kids, it’s what MPK wanted us to consider…anyway, bye bye S3 Aidan?

Highlights throughout S2 have been Anthony (though I hope he dumps the Italian) so funny, so the same as ever, but works for 2023.

Seema- brilliant, has completely filled Samantha’s spot. It was almost awkward to see KC appearing, which I didn’t think would be the case. We must have a S3 Seema, but hopefully she dumps the film director, far too many splinters from his wooden acting.
Herbert and Lisa, great dynamic feels like they’ve always been around.

Final episode Miranda (v2.1), let’s pretend the rest didn’t happen.

Here’s to season 3, when hopefully Carrie will have some furniture to fill those rooms and a designated toilet area for the cat…

Does anyone remember how crap Carrie was with Aidan's dog in SATC, she literally lost it once. Maybe explains why Aidan doesn't even want her in the same state as his kids. It makes the cat thign very unbelievable, Carrie is selfish she is not going to change now even if cats are lower maintenance, she's already fucked off on a looong holiday.

I do not get the cat thing at all! There never seemed to be anything maternal (or peternal !) about Carrie ever - and that was fine. The kitten thing seems so weird and unnecessary - but then again so do a lot of the storylines on AJLT. I spend so much time trying to look for meanings when really I think its just rushed and lazy. I will give something some head space for a week and then the next episode comes round and its just dropped!

The Samantha cameo was uncomfortable I thought. Either KC comes back or don't bother. Not needed by the end of S2 when to be honest I had forgot about her.

Like a PP said it bothered me where Miranda was sat at the table compared to where Che was. If I was Miranda I would have been stung by that after what had happened at the comedy club.
I find the Che/Miranda relationship so weird still. Miranda turned so mumsy with them - even the way she tapped Che on the shoulder when arriving at the dinner party and Che taking shots and apologising for being bold, its so off!

I had read reviews here before watching the episode, so I was aware of Aiden and his 5 year request. But yet watching it I was still in shock! Like why?! And so specific - 5 years?! Like he will stop being a problem as soon as he hits 20. And they couldn't see eachother at all in that time?
I know I am asking questions loads of PP's have raised before but it was just so stupid and frustrating!!!!

So strong, independent women like Seema and Carrie are just sat around waiting on their men to come back! No, just NO!!
Now albeit they are in Greece/in their amazing apartments in New York and In Seema's case having their amazing career. But even still, the "message" seemed off.

And SJP is pure class - she looks unreal and is easily the best actress of all the main characters.

I need to watch it again as I fell asleep about ten minutes after starting it. That bodes well …….

I feel like this is a way to get Aidan out of S3, clumsy but better than killing him off or having him cheat on her.

Please move Nya on - I feel bad for the actor as she’s barely in it, ditto Che - get the message please producers - they can exit stage left with Toby.

The Anthony storyline is quite disturbing - the Italian man basically coerced him into having sex when he had made his feelings clear. Then a little bit of emotional blackmail about moving to Rome if he didn’t change his stance. If that was a straight man saying that to a woman…and the scene in the bedroom - no one needed to see the look on Anthony’s face.

I ask again, where is the cat litter tray been kept in the small apartment?

probably in the bathroom, that's where I used to keep mine.

re LTW, it REALLY bugs me that they have that huge apartment with the GIANT walk in wardrobe and her office space is a 2ft desk in her wardrobe. Wtf is that about?
