re LTW, it REALLY bugs me that they have that huge apartment with the GIANT walk in wardrobe and her office space is a 2ft desk in her wardrobe. Wtf is that about?

Ha, I hadn’t noticed that, you’re so right.

Sarvanga38 · 25/08/2023 14:53

I was uncomfortable with the Anthony thing too. I mean, if you're going to have a storyline where someone is coerced in to a sexual act that they're not comfortable with, and you feel the need to show them during it (which frankly was going to be TMI for me anyway LOL), then why not at least make it look like it was an enjoyable sexual epiphany for him?

thebellagio · 25/08/2023 15:10

For a show about empowerment, the Anthony scene and the Miranda non consensual threesome shows that the writers REALLY need to work on understanding boundaries and consent

Totally agree!

GellerYeller · 25/08/2023 16:10

I agree on consent issues completely. I did wonder if the (deluded) writers thought they were making another (misjudged in this case) joke about the size of the Italian’s ‘equipment’? They’ve hugely missed the mark if so.
I’ve also realised that Rabbi Jen (Hari Nef) is in the Barbie movie- and is completely fabulous in it. And John Corbett must be busy as there’s another My Big Fat Greek Wedding sequel coming up.

mondaytosunday · 25/08/2023 16:21

The actor who plays Nya has commitments with another TV show she films at the same time.

KillingMeDeftly · 25/08/2023 16:24

Yes, season 3 of The Morning Show is about to drop so I suspect that was filming at the same time as AJLT.

Really good point. It was played for laughs but thinking back on it, it's quite (literally) uncomfortable.

Is that any good?

dayswithaY · 25/08/2023 18:49

Well Anthony will be walking like John Wayne in S3 cos obviously it’s not going to be a one time thing for his Italian Stallion.

tribpot · 25/08/2023 18:58

I find it deeply odd that both Carrie and Anthony have both come out of very long marriages but have apparently found true love almost immediately with the next person who comes by. Are we saying if Charlotte left Harry (god forbid) she would fall madly in love with her next boyfriend? Even with Charlotte's track record I think this would do a huge disservice to the relationship.

Lentilweaver · 25/08/2023 19:03

In my opinion, Charlotte and Harry are only together because Charlotte has been a Stepford wife. Hence Harry moaning about having to get a 17-year-old and a 14-year-old ready for school!

Gowlett · 25/08/2023 19:08

Just watched 11. What a let down…

THAT Samantha cameo? Crap.

The party… No buzz! No drama.

Aidan. Fucking hell. Five years?!

The clothes were great, that’s it.

And Miranda on the BBC. Liked.

SheilaFentiman · 25/08/2023 19:11

@tribpot Big has been dead more than a year and Carrie has had a couple of short lived relationships, I guess (bike guy and podcast producer guy) Going back to an old love feels more realistic than Seema falling in love in 3 weeks, TBH.

Lentilweaver · 25/08/2023 19:13

Podcast producer guy was hot, nice and funny. Why did she break up with again? Bet he didn't wear Y fronts or come with Aiden level baggage.

tribpot · 25/08/2023 19:18

@SheilaFentiman Right but Carrie had been in love with Big for like 30 years. Married for ?? 20. I feel like most of us would not jump straight into the full blown 'I have met the [next] love of my life' phase in a year. After the crying during the audio book taping Carrie hardly seems to have mourned Big this season.

Gowlett · 25/08/2023 19:26

I’m glad Aidan’s gone. None of that storyline was working for me… I mean, he’s going to leave his life in Virginia, his kids, his farm (surely that’s his job too?) to move to New York (which I’m sure he hates now, not just Carrie’s apartment). Yeeeeeesssss… Sure! I just couldn’t buy that.

Gowlett · 25/08/2023 19:29

And the y-fronts?! Nooooo, noooo, noooo… As Carrie would say.

thebellagio · 25/08/2023 19:38

I really hated her questioning whether he was a mistake. She was married to him for 20 years for Christ sake

God, yes, awful!

43ontherocksporfavor · 25/08/2023 20:17

Yea I was shocked at that too!

Gowlett · 25/08/2023 20:26

And Seema with the whole “I love you” nonsense was a bit Just Seventeen, was it not? She’s a fully-grown woman, FGS!

SheilaFentiman · 25/08/2023 20:48

Just coming to post that!

I’m so annoyed about the Last Supper, honestly. Surely a better prize/ending would have been a small dinner for 4 and Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte could have told Seema stories of the apartment of yore. As it was, it might have well have been in a restaurant!

aqiarious · 25/08/2023 21:06

Watched at last.

Liked

Carrie's outfits - slouchy sweatshirt and midi skirt, and even the leggings with the dress. Still v. Pineapple Dance!

Steve, And Miranda and Steve scene.

Shoe

Samantha- though I mean it was nice to see her (and she looked great) rather than it adding anything to the episode.

Nya's love interest was very handsome, though the scenes were slightly silly

The ending with Seema on the beach.

Disliked

Aidan - ridiculous man. Of course he needs time, as Wyatt has a few issues that need addressing (drink, drugs, stealing and driving trucks), but putting a decisive number of five years on it is too long at any stage/age of life. Also the way he spoke about his ex wife did raise red flags, as some of you have already said.

The periphery characters, Lisa and Nya, I can't remember the names of their husbands/partners as they get so little screen time, which feels rushed. Drop them and spend more time on Seema and Anthony.

Charlotte's speech and drunk acting.

Che is just not funny

Coercion again. It didn't sit entirely well. Agree boundaries need to be addressed.
