It’s at cinemas from start of September so it’s perfectly timed for anyone who’ll be sad to see him leave AJLT. I wonder if he has painted on abs for hot sunny day scenes in Greece…?

I just had to join you to say how angry I am at Carrie for not calling out Che for her hurtful “comedy”. At the very least she should have followed Miranda out of the club and then also uninvited her from the last supper and told her exactly why. Typical selfish Carrie.

I think Miranda told Aidan and Carrie to stay, then Che followed her out. But I agree re the uninviting (look, it’s too awkward to have you both there and I’ve been friends with you a year and Miranda for 30)

carrie shouldn't be staying in that apartment. The apartment was her past. She only went back after Big because she wasn't ready to move on. Also she didn't fully change her name to Preston did she?

@AuntieEsther she used it to write in when she was married though? And she is after all supposed to be a writer…

Selling something below market value regardless of how wealthy you are (and Lizette was not poor either) was just odd I thought.

Managed to watch up to the Aiden arriving bit before having to leave the house for the day. Thoughts so far.

Loved everything until Che turned up to whine about her “emotional transition”. We’ve all had an emotional transition watching you, love, and it’s not to a happier place! And major gripe, why does she get to sit next to Carrie at dinner, and not Miranda?

I too found Carrie’s outfit somewhat lacklustre and didn’t see the need for the leggings. I guess they put her in a dark outfit befitting the bad news. I wonder if the chequered pattern is a reference to life as a game of chess.

Charlotte came wearing a piece of reject sculpture from the gallery. Loved her speech to Harry, though, about taking on the domestic load.

Miranda’s scene with Steve I thought was lovely, really nicely done. Also glad she got a bit of closure with Che (who remained a self justifying prick). She looked good in red, and is back to being a shit hot lawyer rather than pathetic and directionless doormat. I hope she finds joy with Joy.

Seema looked like a goddess. I still don’t fully care about her relationship with Ravi, but I glad she is being uncompromising about her career and life on NY, and not trailing around after him just for love. Carrie could learn a thing or two from her.

Nya. Enjoy your glittering career, and shag that beautiful man! You don’t need to expend any more energy on your odious ex. Not sure about her outfit, too much to take in with those mixed prints.

Lisa. Scene with Herbert about feeling miscarriage guilt was very poignant. I am sure many of us can relate. Hated her outfit at the dinner though.

Smoke, Hackie, Lysette. I really don’t care and resent the screen time you take up. Smoke, I cannot believe you are a designer, your clothes look cheap. Lysette, I like your blouse. I am sure you can afford your own bras though, with the money you’ve saved on the apartment you’ve been gifted (more or less - below market and with no rival buyers in NY is a gift).

Samantha - the original goddess. There simply wasn’t enough time. I relished every second.

I did laugh at Che for once, when Carrie stopped blabbing at the dinner table and Che raised a glass and said ‘Carrie, that was a lot more than one word’ because I was thinking the same
Carrie needs to ditch her old podcast friend, he is awful but his girlfriend (Smoke I think?) is lovely. Unnecessary though so get rid! So many characters could be dumped for season 3
Carrie’s dress was cute, leggings no, but the dress was great
Miranda really seems to be getting back to herself and I like that a lot, she’s more like SATC Miranda
Charlotte is doing really well and I love seeing that
It was nice to see Carrie and Aiden end on good note, but 5 years? Really?

All in all a (half) decent episode to wrap up, apart from all the sex scenes near the end, that just made me cringe.

Much as I love her in SATC, the Kim C cameo was a non-event. It added nothing for me. The acting wasn’t particularly good on her side and what was the point in getting Patricia Field in to throw together an outfit that we all could have assembled with minimal effort. And you can’t see it properly anyway!

I enjoyed hungover Charlotte - and Charlotte and Harry trying to set up the iPhone at the end was cute. Not very believable but I like them together.

I’m pleased that Seema has found love after all these years but am I the only one who thinks the Ravi actor is absolutely terrible?!

LTW and Herbert are a good pair. And I’m glad Nya is about to get with the hot chef. Not sure about her attempts at flirting mind…

I don’t care about Miranda and Joy whatsoever but I continue to be glad that Miranda is getting back to something resembling her old self.

I care even less about Che and Toby. Just fuck off, Che. They were slightly more tolerable in this episode at least and I, too, enjoyed her joke to Carrie during the toast.

Agree with PP about Carrie’s leggings being a weird choice with that dress. Miranda looked amazing in that caped red dress.

So that leaves Carrie and Aiden. Make it make sense! As if she should or would wait 5 years for him! And if she was as all-consuming for him as he claims, he would NEVER want to be away from her for that long. They could easily have made it work long-distance when they have loads of free time and money. But at least we won’t have to endure it for season 3.

I think it was time for Carrie to leave that apartment either way so no issue with that but why do they keep pointing out that she sold it cheap to Lisette?!

Anyway, it was fine. I enjoyed it overall - as much as I can. And I’ll hate-watch the next season too. 😂

Did anyone click the Butter on Anthony’s nightstand? Gave me ‘Last Tango in Paris’ vibes which was also non-consensual anal sex. No idea why the writers in this day and age allowed the characters to be coerced into doing sexual acts they didn’t want to do. Just bizarre.

5 years has stumped me

I haven’t watched to the end, or the Aiden/Carrie conversation, but what is stopping Carrie commuting to Virginia or wherever Aiden is, when Wyatt is at his mum’s for weekends? Or buying a little place down there and going for a week or two or even months at a time. Carrie won’t combust if she leaves Manhattan for a bit. Are they seriously separating for 5 years then hoping to resume their relationship, when all manner of compromise is available? How does pandering to Wyatt bring a brat help him in the long run, surely in 5 years he will still be a teen, but even more used to getting his own way. What a nutty way for two incredibly rich individuals with no obvious day jobs, who profess love and wanting to be together, to behave. I think these 2 enjoy the pain and drama of star crossed love more than having a grown up relationship, where they actually have to grow old and boring together.

I think there is a notion that not wanting anal (whatever your sexuality)is both vanilla/old fashioned and somewhat homophobic. It’s been normalised amongst teens (eg via Teen Vogue) without much discussion of the health issues that can be associated with it, not to mention the psychological boundaries involved. Personally, I think it’s a revolting story line, in what would otherwise be a nice plot progression for Anthony, post Stanford.
