I got distracted watching Carlos, and then fell asleep. I was confused when I woke up at 12.30am to see the match hadn't finished. They definitely need either a roof- or to at least cover the courts more effectively Got to be cheaper and easier than a load of machines to suck the water up, to cover in tarpaulin.

I was hoping Djok's delayed match start would mean he would end up having to play twice today or something. Unfortunately, it was a match too far for Gael.

And yet another retirement- this time Lajovic.

If tennis doesn't work out for him , Carlos could become a weather man- specialising The Windy and the Rain.

Fritz is playing Djok tonight- he is 0-6 down on their hth- but the last match they played at the WTFs was very close. I have everything crossed though- come on Taylor!

Haven't seen any tennis this week but can't remember so many withdrawals or walkovers (plus quite a few upsets) as there have been in the last couple of weeks. There seems to be a bit of burn out from playing too much tennis (this North American swing is just back to back with no breaks, not necessarily great prep for a Grand Slam) and the ridiculous scheduling doesn't help either!

Talking of which, I've just read that the US Open have decided to continue with the night sessions as is, so starting at 7pm, rather than moving to 6pm, despite players' concerns. Their argument is that it is hard enough for NYers to make 7pm, so they definitely won't make 6pm!

Ffs! If you can't be arsed to get there on time, don't buy a fecking ticket in the first place

kazza the scheduling is really unfair. Where's Djok and his player's committee in all of this? Surely this is the sort of thing that they should be supporting players over- although it's probably not in his best interests to alter schedules, because he gets to pick and choose anyway.

I've always thought that at the US Open , the tennis distracts most of them from eating and drinking. There are so many restaurants and bars on site.

I realised in the early hours that the US Open is only being shown on Sky. Pre- Prime, I definitely watched it somewhere (I don't have Sky Sports, just Virgin with some Sky channels)- so I don't know if I will be able to watch now.

All the retirements are baffling- and my spidey senses are tingling, since Lajovic is another player who has beaten Djok in the past year

I haven't got Sky, so apart from the last 2 years, I've never seen the US Open. We got Prime 2 years ago to watch Raducanu and then kept it for the rest of the tennis. And now that's ending!

More than happy not to get wound up by the ignorant hordes that, apparently, are meant to be there to watch a tennis match, though.

I do have sky, but all the matches are on too late for me! I have the routine of a toddler, in bed between 9-10 and up at 6. I do sometimes catch matches first thing in the morning when they go on late over there.
