Can't sleep and score watching. Looks like Carlos is struggling against Hubi.

And De Minaur beat Fritz- I'm not actually that shocked by that, he has been playing well lately.

I have been score watching since I haven't been able to sleep. Sinner is through via a walkover. Don't know yet why Murray withdrew.

Hubi came very close to beating Carlos, really tight match which Alcaraz won. Tommy Paul ( who I forget exists for ages- then he suddenly seems to be everywhere)had a straightforward win against Giron.

I’ve just seen that Andy withdrew - hope he’s ok.

Kyrgios has pulled out of the US open. He’s about to drop out of the top 100 so at this rate he won’t qualify automatically for the bigger tournaments- although I’m sure they’ll all just give him wildcards as he’s so entertaining (apparently).

Chessie I was very glad to read that Kyrgios had withdrawn from the US Open. Given there are so many really good up and coming players around- he ought to be irrelevant. But the commentators would have still fawned all over him if he had been there., so it's good they haven't got the chance.

Now, if Djok could just withdraw as well, my viewing will be so much better .

Maybe Im being too hopeful but I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Kyrgios retires. It takes a lot of work to come back from surgery and it’s pretty obvious he doesn’t have the work ethic or any real passion for tennis.
