Also, yeah Sanam IS black/mixed race - as was Kai. Why on earth are you trying to deny this? Your comments are unbelievable! Are they not black enough for you to be classed a people of colour/black? Literally gobsmacked.

So should the next winner be proper 100% black in your view then, (whatever THAT means!) no matter how awful they are, or toxic, or rude ... Why must someone win just because they are black? Your comments baffle me.

Surprised at these figures! Didn't expect second and third to be so close and didn't expect J&S to be so far ahead!

I think Whitney ruined it for her and Lochan when she became even more outspoken and direct. She started to be rude to people in my opinion. I think knowing they were the favourite couple was definitely a poisoned chalice and she tried to amplify the behaviours which she thought the public liked, but it had the opposite effect. I think if that didn't happen they likely would have won but it's her own fault as she should have kept it in check

Yes, spot on about her amplifying what she thought was popular. Agree they would have won but for that.

So the voting figures show more votes for the black/mixed couples overall than for the white couples overall, which hopefully adds a more positive light on the race debate, though I understand the wider frustrations and complexities.

That aside, it would be interesting to know what kind of numbers actually voted. Can't imagine it was huge for this season. It has been quite a drag, but I expect I'll watch again next time around.

Not looking to get into the racism debate but just want to point out that Amber is black & she won pretty much alone (she'd have won no matter who she was with).

The traits I loved about Whitney was that she seemed like an awesome friend and had a smile that melted hearts. She seemed so diplomatic and mature until the argument with Ella and I was so gunning for her to win. Unless the series was so incredibly well edited to make her appear this way then I’m struggling to see why she would have thought that. However I did read that she gave far more unsolicited advice than was broadcast.

Someone upthread commented that we don’t forgive mediocre women as fast as mediocre men and hold women to a higher standard. Whilst I agree with that, personally I voted for the woman I liked best as there were no couples, where I could say I liked both of them. I didn’t particularly like any of the men in the final but if had to vote for the guy I liked most, I’d probably have said Zach. Enough said about Ty and Sammy. But there’s something I don’t like about Lochan. Idk what that is as he seems like a really nice guy.
