For me, the final was between 2 very popular women. I voted for Jess. I really was totally team Whitney until the bust up with Ella. I do wonder if her behaviour that day lost her the win.

Agree Maya Jama is the right host. Jess and Sammy were the right winners IMO. She looked lovely in the red dress and Sammy (and Ty’s) reactions to it said it all. ❤️

I definitely believe some younger viewers liked Sammy. Doesn't take much.

It's so strange isn't it? Jess certainly has a type- she loved that other Essex boy that came in. Big teeth and common accent seems to be her thing

Maya Jama is a great host for this, warm, empathetic and bloody gorgeous. Laura was a bit icy for it.

I'm glad we didn't get Maya straight after Caroline. Shows how perfect Caroline was for the role too

I think it did, but I'm glad we saw that side.

I can't believe I sat through an hour and 40 minutes of that unbelievably repetitive and tedious show (honestly thought it was never going to end! 😬) for that travesty of a result! The result was the exact opposite of what I wanted.

Jess and Sammy have actually won Love Island? It's surreal and bizarre and RIDICULOUS.

I hate the fact Ella was into Ty. She's nuts.

Ty was just horrible.

I'm happy for Jess to win. Sammy can sod off, and surely will, but Jess will get some kind of Loose Women-style chatty tv gig no doubt.

Ella and Ty looked well cheesed off, especially Ty who's much less good at masking it and obviously hates not winning. They're a stunning couple but hard to warm to with her sour face on and he's too young whatever he says, he's still gonna play the field some more. I expected them to win though.

What the heck was going on with Molly's make-up? Her head looked like some grey bronze patchy mess. Bizarre how long they spend on it and how bad it looks. All look better with less slap.

Maya looks incredible though, always.

The thing is, out of the final 4 couples, the majority of them had done something awful at least once. They had all done some decent things.
And the past has shown that the ones who end up successful/wealthy are almost never the ones who win, so why do so many people get so wound up by the result?
