@RaraRachael you can definitely still queue on the day for a grounds pass, I used to do it every year but now have young children which makes it a bit more difficult. The people who are camping out overnight or turning up at 5am are trying to get tickets for the show courts. We usually got there around 8am and we always got in. Some people also go in the afternoon when you can get tickets as other people start to leave. It’s best to go in the first few days though as there are more matches on the outer courts - although this year with all the rain delays it’s a bit different! Also, once you get in you can buy return tickets to the show courts later in the day which are a massive bargain - not sure how much they are now but I remember paying about £10 for centre court!

And Maria is out- 2 slams in a row with a first round loss.

GrouchyKiwi · 05/07/2023 16:08

That's quite a turnaround after that first set!

Raahh · 05/07/2023 16:09

Grouchy I know- I only score watched it, so I don't know if there was an issue. She looked like she was sailing through after the first set.

Raahh · 05/07/2023 16:11

Well done Daniil.

ShakeYourFeathers · 05/07/2023 16:12

My current view the big tv has packed up 🙄🙄🙄

That's very bad timing!

ShakeYourFeathers · 05/07/2023 16:14

Raahh tell me about it 🙄

Raahh · 05/07/2023 16:15

Daniil's interviews are always fun.

popandchoc · 05/07/2023 16:15

@RaraRachael i won tickets in the ballot in 2020 for centre court which i moved to last year.
Didn't get any this year but they have a resale so bought some for court 2 tomorrow.
Agree that you should be able to get in for grounds tickets if you get there early enough.

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2023 16:15

Oh no Shake

I think the computer monitor I've been watching on at work is slightly bigger 😒

JaneJeffer · 05/07/2023 16:18

I can't believe Maria is out! She was flying last I saw.

Oh ffs now another protester in court 18

ChessieFL · 05/07/2023 16:28

Don’t think this protester had a jigsaw though - just the orange confetti.

ShakeYourFeathers · 05/07/2023 16:29

Apparently it was ticker tape ... didn't know you could still get that

ChessieFL · 05/07/2023 16:31

The players are helping to pick it all up!

IceandIndigo · 05/07/2023 16:38

Taylor is through in 5 sets.

IceandIndigo · 05/07/2023 16:38

Shocked that Maria lost!

Raahh · 05/07/2023 16:40

I had to go out - how can they be carrying on in the rain- when the other day they were drying the court (that barely got wet) for ages?

Raahh · 05/07/2023 16:41

when I think of demonstrating, chucking jigsaw pieces doesn't immediately spring to mind.

It's very Wimbledon though.

ShakeYourFeathers · 05/07/2023 16:42

Well spotted that was in Katie... good call to have it checked

Milos is 2 sets up though, so that's good.

I like Barbora Krejikova a lot- and if she beats Heather we might be spared another viewing of that interview.
