WARNING: SPOILERS FOR BEFORE WE DIE SEASON 1

In season one of Before We Die, Detective Inspector Hannah Laing (Lesley Sharp) was working with Billy Murdoch (Vincent Regan), a specialist in Eastern European drug gangs from the National Crime Agency, to infiltrate the Mimica crime family, led by the ruthless Davor (Toni Gojanović) and overseen by matriarch Dubravka (Kazia Pelka). However, Hannah was in for a shock when she learned that her informant within the Mimicas was none other than her estranged son, Christian Radic (Patrick Gibson).

As Hannah, Billy and Christian got increasingly involved with the Mimicas in their bid to find out what the mysterious Operation Krajina involved, with Christian also becoming romantically entangled with Davor's sister Bianca (Issy Knopfler), the two sides were ultimately pulled together into a dramatic confrontation that saw Hannah shoot and kill Davor to save Christian, with Christian being forced to go on the run for his own protection.

@daffodilandtulip & @martinisforeveryone I came here to say the same thing, I understand checking the (luxurious) safe house but why not then get inside it as quickly as possible 🤷🏻‍♀️

@daffodilandtulip I think it's the cadence of her speech, which could be partly the script writing, could be direction so she appears more menacing or commanding, or, as you say, meant to imply she hasn't been speaking English so much naturally, given that she's surrounded by family and friends who wouldn't converse amongst each other in English. It's probably that I'm comparing her performance way back to this one and finding it slightly off, but then, the character isn't a very sympathetic one. Or, I might be entirely misremembering 😁

I thought she was going to ruin it all and kill dubravska! I also thought Kane was involved, glad he’s a goodie.

Ahhh Billy! I knew it was a trap. What is wrong with these people?! Stop being stupid!

Also, why are they still using the safe house when everyone knows where it is now?!

Why are they making really silly mistakes like the 3 calls from his phone to hers. How can they think she wouldn’t notice them

Hannah turning up at the kitchen widow was really stupid. It distracted Kane.
Actually there's a lot of stupid in the programme - we have to suspend disbelief- but it's still good. Has my heart racing at times.

Hope it’s finished by now. I watched it earlier. Did Billy survive or was that her imagination.?
wonder how they cleared up all the killings at the house without anyone getting in trouble

I think Billy survived. It was almost a happy ending, with those together and Bianca with the baby.

Annoyed Nicky got away. She was a piece of work wasn't she?!

Lots of silly bits overall but it was full of action and did keep you gripped and guessing.

It was neatly tied up and Bianca seemed to suffer no ill effects from shooting her mother dead. In fact she seemed to deal with everything very stoically, including her torturous sea journey from Costa Rica in a sealed container that wasn't scanned at the landing port. It must've taken about a month. I'm surprised she survived it and the pregnancy wasn't compromised.

I was disappointed no one ended up buried in the hole at the bottom of the swimming pool though. I thought that was a plot line going begging.

Rather than a neat ending, maybe with Nicky's escape they're thinking of yet another series? If they are I won't be watching.

I've just started Litvinenko and am absolutely gripped even though I know the story. The contrast in quality is very stark.

Nicely tied up for s3 and hunt for Nicky

I did think she got shot in the head from behind and I was nooooooo she's dead

But seems her and billy alive and they kissed - blondes swoons

And baby Christin is ok - yes daughter didn't seem fazed by killing her mum

Tho guess she she killed her love of her life and baby dad and locked her up she kinda didn't like her mum anymore

I definitely thought Hannah got shot in the head. Twice.

I definitely thought Hannah and Billy were a-goner! I suppose time had passed as the baby had been born and Bianca wasn’t even showing when she shot her mum but they all seemed very chill

One did have to suspend disbelief at the ending.
Otherwise it was terribly bleak and mire realistic.
