Ah now. 😞

Although I was absolutely delighted to hear one of my favourite songs ever when they were flapping around Tone the Post’s shower curtain doings.

🥰

That lovely blouse though. Hugely elegant.

Material has a finite life though so if something like a sheet or duvet or shirt has been used and washed multiple times I'm not sure sewing it in to something else will extend its life much. They're better repurposing things like bridesmaids dresses, although having your bridesmaids wear a dress they'd wear again rather than a one off is an even better idea

Another idea for an alteration or timed realistic sewing activity would be
"Muuuuuuum, my cubs jumper doesn't fit, I need all 26 badges moved over to the next size one by tomorrow."

Or any pattern challenge, but with added random interruptions to provide snacks, adjudicate arguments, demonstrate "wotcha doin', muuuuuuum?", and "can I do it, show me, I want to, pleeeeease."

(Hello, been lurking for weeks, am a sewer not a sewist, my unfinished projects ranking is 14)

Welcome, fellow sewer, and Unfinisher of Projects.

You will find a home here. 😁

Evening all

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:00

Helloooo

SabrinaThwaite · 19/07/2023 21:02

If you are interested in tailoring, then the @dieworkwear Twitter account is interesting (and if you’re not then you get Daniel Craig photos as a consolation).

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:03

That does sound good.

Wolfcub · 19/07/2023 21:03

Five hours for a trench coat that seems mad

Five hours for a trench coat that seems mad

That's sweat-shop hours.

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:05

This looks hard. And you could go different weights - light like the example or a heavy wool one.

SabrinaThwaite · 19/07/2023 21:05

32 pieces!

Clymene · 19/07/2023 21:06

What is Sara thingy wearing? It looks like a sparkly neck brace

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:06

I couldn't fetch it cut out in that time. 32 pieces!

Clymene · 19/07/2023 21:07

This is crazy, trying to make a trench coat in 5 hours

CaptainMyCaptain · 19/07/2023 21:11

I can't believe any of them would be very well made in thar time. In previous series they have made coats for the made-to-measure.

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:12

This trying to add DRAMA jazz hands is damaging the program. 😥

MouseMinge · 19/07/2023 21:14

Even if I was a really good sewer I can't imagine making a trench coat in 5 hours. That seems mental.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 19/07/2023 21:14

Surely Vicky only got through to the semi in order to eliminate her, rather than a better sewer.

MouseMinge · 19/07/2023 21:15

I quite like pink. I wear pink. I do not like a pink trench coat. That is all.

MouseMinge · 19/07/2023 21:16

After wearing a divine blouse last week, Sarah has gone for Children's TV host from the 1980s tonight.

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:17

I wanted someone to do a flowery trench coat. 《Sulks》

SabrinaThwaite · 19/07/2023 21:17

Tony’s pink buttons are a nice touch.

Binglebong · 19/07/2023 21:18

I have two cheap trench coats, one beige and one emerald green. These are all far nicer.
