It’s dire at the moment! That was quite funny David talking to Liam about Wendy. It’s such an off match another big fail by the writers. I’m not a fan of Tracey I’d have preferred her not to return 😏she just irritates me. At least no Chloe tonight

Yes, I think David said what the majority of us are thinking!

BooseysMom · 22/07/2023 13:36

I think they are too! (Waiting to be shot down!!) The fact that the age difference doesn't matter to them is sweet. And as for David saying about Wendy not being anything like Layla... Well I hate Layla and her horrible false face! My DF is completely besotted but he is 86!!

I'm not a fan of Leyla either. My partner thinks she's stunning! I don't

Helendegenerate · 23/07/2023 13:19

Didn't Tracey leave (storyline not her real life reason) to go and do some amazing job?

Therefore she has some super talent (can't recall what it was) and has other options than being a cleaner in the village? Not every inhabitant of that place actually works there. There must surely be others who get in their cars and work in the nearby towns?

Also why is she attempting the impossible and setting her sights on a nursery when she could just be a childminder which she could do in her own home. Less outlay and far more realistic re qualifications etc.

Does the answer lay with our Caleb one wonders 😏

Despite me really trying, I can't think of any occupants in the village who don't actually work in the village. Noah, the electrician, will have to travel around but I've not actually seen him work since his employer left. And despite the employer leaving, he has mentioned still working.
Quite unrealistic. How many of us have work on our doorstep?
The reason why a nursery is being mentioned is because it'll be somewhere for nicky nacky to work. In the village. Where he lives. For some reason.

JaneJeffer · 23/07/2023 13:44

I don't know why they're doing this story. It's not as if they'll ever show the childcare place again once it's opened.

Given how many of the inhabitants are permanently skint, the village supports a surprising array of businesses too. A pub, two cafés, a shop (didn’t that have a deli bar thing at one time too?), a B&B with restaurant, a beauty salon and a garage… have I missed any? I get that The Hop/Hide would make money from the outdoor pursuits visitors, but most of the time it’s full of locals (who apparently can’t bung a frozen pizza in the oven).

The business belle runs at the hide, wellness retreats and stuff. Wedding organisers and a working farm. Soon to be nursery... yeah I can see why no one has to travel far for work.
And that horsey business Kim's been working on but I forget what that's about

Neverinamonthofsundays · 23/07/2023 20:17

There are not enough kids in Emmerdale for her to feckin mind!

There's hundreds of them. Someone gets pregnant every five minutes!

CoffeeLover90 · 23/07/2023 20:39

Nursery age there's, frankie, Victoria's son, David's son, little thomas and possibly amelias baby. Can't imagine chloe will need it with her being allergic to work.
May have missed some?
She could do child minding but honestly think the nursery idea is so nanny nicky gets employment as well as Tracey.

AutumnCrow · 23/07/2023 22:08

The nursery will have only one visible kid, Tracey and NickyNanny will be 'run off their feet', Tracey will win an award for 'Hotten & District Businesswoman of the Year' and get her mug in the local paper and Nicola will be fummin'

Snozzlemaid · 24/07/2023 17:53

I work in Early Years and the story about Tracey setting up a nursery is hilarious with her complete lack of knowledge and experience.
As it's soapland I'm sure it'll be up and running in no time with no mention of how long it takes to get your Ofsted registration for starters.

We should have a bet on how fast they blaze through the red tape.

I'm going for the DBS for Tracey being done in under a fortnight. (There's a thread on here at the moment about the insane actual backlog.)

And building regs - what are they?

”Is it a problem that I’m a former prostitute, porn star and phone sex line operator?”

”Well, it’s not ideal… but then again, you haven’t killed anyone, so that puts you head and shoulders above most of the rest of the village. Congratulations.”

JaneJeffer · 24/07/2023 19:35

Has anyone said fuck off Wendy yet?

So this Caleb/Moira thing happened off screen did it?

AutumnCrow · 24/07/2023 19:36

I remember her saying '£75k' but I didn't think it was a loan. I thought it was a payment for ruining their livelihood.

JaneJeffer · 24/07/2023 19:37

So now Moira suddenly needs this really expensive machine Hmm

TellingBone · 24/07/2023 19:42

I seem to recall Caleb offering the money and Moira saying OK but it's a loan, and we have to formalise it, papers signed and everything.

Is Bob going to dress up as a spy and hide behind pillars in a Newcastle hotel? #classicBob

I must have dozed off

AutumnCrow · 24/07/2023 19:43

Honestly, I think I nod off during a lot of these conversations.

JaneJeffer · 24/07/2023 19:45

Cheek of Wendy getting Bob to pack her bag

PrincessScarlett · 24/07/2023 19:47

Yes @JaneJeffer fuck off Wendy!

PrincessScarlett · 24/07/2023 19:48

Very much looking forward to Wendy getting her come uppence

PrincessScarlett · 24/07/2023 19:50

Poor Bob. Although to be fair he has cheated several times himself.

AutumnCrow · 24/07/2023 19:51

They're all serial adulterers.
