Late to this… persevered through it but god, it’s awful. Miranda is sooo annoying. All the woke stuff is just so trite.

I am kind of interested in Carrie’s storyline so will watch to the end but I’m not sure why!

Didn't we have a trans rabbi

The rabbi was a trans woman. Female to male trans man not yet, I don't think. Che and that blue haired person are NBs.

Ridemeginger · 12/07/2023 18:42

I forgot about Rose/Rock, but I think she's non binary too, rather than identifying as a boy.

GellerYeller · 12/07/2023 19:40

I loved Rabbi Jen - declaring the sourdough Challah was ‘so duhlicious’ while announcing Rock was nowhere near prepared for the ceremony. And Anthony taking Rock to task for it. So funny.

Sisternyc · 12/07/2023 20:33

I know people change but are we supposed to believe Miranda went from trying to be a lesbian for her a career and saying she identifies as a fire hydrant to being a lesbian in a relationship with some nb?

Sisternyc · 12/07/2023 20:34

And calling Samantha the lesbian je jour - I’m on season 4 if you can’t tell!

Mistressofnone · 12/07/2023 21:14

Haha I forgot about the fire hydrant comment.

Ah the blue haired person! They're like a cross between Stephen Hawking and Mr Tumble.

Netaporter · 13/07/2023 09:15

Today’s episode..

contains spoilers, do not read on if you have not watched it!

Much better this week…. (Save for Che, obvs but more of that below…)

Yays for this week…

-Charlotte and Harry’s costumes (I Loved the Americans)
-LTW and Anthony’s dancing
-Naya’s ONS
-Seema ‘pumping up the volume’ 😂
-The TV audience telling Che what we all know…, Boooooooring!!
-SJP’s costume outfit. That dress! 😍
-Feint hope that Che gets her marching orders by Miranda

Boos this week

-Miranda’s continued personality annihilation (can’t even order a red curry apparently 🙄)
-Che’s puerile teenage behaviour (you wouldn’t put up with it from a teenagers so fuck that shit we’re supposed to believe that Miranda would)
-not enough Anthony. Again!
-Not enough brunch 😂

ReeseWitherfork · 13/07/2023 09:59

I thought the whole Bobby actually being gay thing was interesting. We’ve got this entire episode where the girls overthink it and Miranda gets mad about it and Stanford is bitchy about it. And now Bitsy just causally throws out a “yeah, he was gay” comment, like “so… what of it… no big deal”. Just sums up the original series so much… obsessing and causing drama about things that they could have just shrugged off.

Totally forgot she was pregnant last time we saw her!

tothelefttotheleft · 13/07/2023 10:15

@Netaporter

Don't you think Seema (not sure how that's spelt) could have been a bit more ballsy with Mr pump up the Jam?

tothelefttotheleft · 13/07/2023 10:21

@Netaporter

Also don't you think carries whole dtzy character and using a million words and acting iso flustered etc is no longer appropriate at her age?

Netaporter · 13/07/2023 10:21

@tothelefttotheleft are you still being puntastic? 😂 in the event you are not, yes, she most definitely should have told him to fuck off 😆

Netaporter · 13/07/2023 10:23

@tothelefttotheleft I actually thought it was quite carriesque. I like to see some things haven’t changed (looking at you Miranda Hobbs-Brady)

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/07/2023 11:44

Yah for che being slated

Miranda is obv moving out and on without her. Yah

Shame Carrie didn't get with the cyclist George - he was cute

But as usual I enjoyed 😁

Waits for the many replies slating todays episode 😂

KillingMeDeftly · 13/07/2023 12:09

Harry in the wig was hilarious.

Nice in-joke with LTW's husband as the actor played George Washington in the original cast of Hamilton.

And George the bike guy was in the episode of SATC where Harry proposed. His mother was one of the older ladies at the synagogue who tried to set Charlotte up with him!

Che continues to be 🙄

35965a · 13/07/2023 12:10

It is a shame Che is such a crap character because Sara Ramirez is actually a decent actor.

I agree with the analysis above.
Highlight for me - Carrie looking fabulous yet again, loved all the clothes, the hair etc. Nobody wears clothes quite like SJP.
Only Miranda made me cringe this week. Some of the other dialogue did feel a bit awkward too but Miranda’s all felt really weird.
I did feel sorry for Che (for 5 seconds), getting your dreams crushed is awful. But having loads of friends over til 3.30am when your beloved girlfriend has to get up at 5 for college is just garbage behaviour. So back to being team ‘Che is a narcissist.’
Other than that it was a bit dull. Not bad, but could have been better.

Ridemeginger · 13/07/2023 12:22

Really enjoyed everything in that, as long as Miranda and Che were not involved.

The Halloween party. Lisa and Anthony should always be dance partners. She is so beautiful! I have no idea who Charlotte was dressed as, but she looked fabulous - no ruffles, bows or middle aged Disney princess skirts, and her face looked almost normal. The chat between Nya, Seema and Carrie about where to go to find men felt like old times, loved it. But Miranda's "Really? Really?" at Carrie g going to a bar to. pick up a man. Just shut up. You have completely changed your sexuality, shagging some unfunny, boundary free git who is years younger than you and you've fucked over your husband. You shouldn't be judging others. Really!

I liked the bit of cultural cross over for Chris Jackson - back in a George Washington costume. I'm warming up a bit to these two (especially poor Lisa with her dead father confusion).

Seema is gorgeous, funny, feisty and unshockable. Not quite Samantha, but she'll do. Enjoyed her scenes with. Mr Penis-Pump. Very reminiscent of a Samantha like situation.

Carrie's coat in the cyclist scene - gorgeous! Isn't cyclist guy George the same bloke who was in the SATC episode when Harry proposes to Charlotte? I think he was the lawyer, David, who Charlotte has a blind date with at the single and mingle, then rejects. I thought Carrie's scenes were quite reminiscent of one of her bad SATC dates. Typical Carrie, though, any amount of effort on her part or not being the centre of attention for 2 minutes, and she's done.

Loving Nya's new found wild side, and she looked gorgeous throughout. But please, can she talk with someone who's excited for her, not bloody Miranda. NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE, YOU UTTER BORE!

Nice to see Rock being excited about something. I quite liked the little comedic scene between Charlotte and Harry at the photo shoot. Might be because she wasn't shouting, gurning and eye-rolling at him. I assume the acting between them emulated whatever show characters it was they had been dressed up as at the Halloween ball. Whoever they are, please stay in those characters! (Charlotte really does need a meatier storyline, though.)

I'm wondering if the round table discussion about Che Passa was a dig at the viewers of AJLT who all hated Che, and said similar things about that character All the "Time Square Tourists" were old/middle aged or looked like they spent too much time in the basement (even the supposedly "gender queer" person) I wonder if that's MPK sticking tow fingers up to his critics - that we are all old farts and fugglies? Those people presumably aren't even the intended audience for this sort of comedy programme. And Miranda, again, please shut up. "Those people don't understand your story!" What bloody story? What is so interesting about Che, apart from the ridiculous pronoun and rebranding of a bi-sexual? And it's bloody irritating that Miranda always ask for permission to hug/kiss whatever, when Che (apparently) has zero boundaries about other peoples' permission when she is the one wanting to initiate physical contact. I'm sure Che needs a few more days alone to get over her pilot disaster by fucking everything in sight. Miranda is such a gullible fool. I guess we are stuck with Che in NY doing shit stand up.

That was directed by Cynthia Nixon! Next time, direct yourself and your them-friend out of it, please. Because that wasn't half bad.

BethDuttonsTwin · 13/07/2023 13:13

I found Aidan controlling how he pressured her to give up smoking when they literally just met and condescending. I dislike smoking but would never start making demands on people I’ve only just started dating.

I don’t remember him pressurising her at all. On one of their first dates he told her he wouldn’t date a smoker - that’s ok isn’t it? I wouldn’t either - so she gave up for him, struggled with it and carried on behind his back. That was always nonsense too, as if he wouldn’t be able to smell it. When he found out she was still smoking, he decided he liked her so much he’d overlook it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/07/2023 14:20

Yes Harry in the wig was funny

I thought he looked like David Duchovny 😂

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 13/07/2023 15:29

I had to switch off today’s episode after 5 minutes. The dialogue was so cringe. Talking about the costumes ‘I still think it’s just you’. Enjoyed Harry’s wig though. Switched off after that.

tacomaco · 13/07/2023 17:55

Harry in the wig was funny. Episode good with the exception of Che. I am hoping that’s them done and something happens with Steve to get old Miranda back. Even some of the clothes Miranda was wearing was awful. That brown polo neck thing was hideous.

SJP outfits were, as ever, stunning.

ShinyPikachu · 13/07/2023 18:02

I quite liked it this week. The stuff that was said about Che sounded like the writers have been reading along here and used a lot of things people have been saying. I did feel sorry for them about that but as someone else said, the behaviour when Miranda was sleeping was awful. DH used to work some crazy early shifts (I'm so glad he no longer has 3am alarms) and I would never have dreamt about doing anything noisy by myself, never mind having people over like that the night before an early start.

Miranda moving in with Nya feels like it's going to lead to disaster between them and I really hated Miranda's reaction to the others going out to meet men at the hotel bar. I did love Carrie deciding to play some Wordle when she ended up as the gooseberry though. That sort of thing used to happen to me all the time when out with friends and I would have loved something like that to pass my time with (instead I always ended up just drinking more as there was nothing else to do half the time Blush).

If I was Carrie I would definitely have stuck around a little longer to get a bit more George. Grin

Seema with the vibrator definitely felt like a Samantha type moment to me and I love that she went back to use it after penis-pump guy decided to leave.

Needhelp101 · 13/07/2023 18:33

Well, a bit blah this week I thought.

Enjoying Rock just being a tomboy, she's clearly not trying to transition, just being a young girl not conforming to gender stereotypes.

Lisa and Anthony's dancing was great. He definitely needs to be in it more. Having rewatched SATC recently, they're really missing Stanny 😢

Miranda and Che are just 😬

tribpot · 13/07/2023 19:19

Enjoyed the episode in the main, still hard to believe Cynthia Nixon directed herself to be such a simpering, needy pain in the arse.

The main annoyance as usual was the Che storyline. I thought we were being chided for being like 'Time Square tourists' in not getting the Che character. Although unclear if this is because the Che in Che Pasa is a sanitised version of the person that we get to endure experience in the show.

Charlotte and Harry as The Americans - great touch. And the return of George Washington - they should have leant into it harder and said 'you look just like the guy in the musical' or similar.

BriarHare · 13/07/2023 19:38

I enjoyed that episode, apart from Charlotte's face and acting. And Che.

LittleBearPad · 13/07/2023 20:11

It hit its stride this week.

Harry at the photo shoot made me laugh.
