Annika, thriller with Nicola Walker. 9.15pm BBC1. Previously on a different channel I think. Series 2 coming later in the year.

Or, meant to say I was rewatching an old Scott and Bailey the other night ( now that WAS a good series, and pays rewatching) and there was Nicola, but on the other side of the fence so to speak. It must have been a very early part for her, maybe it is what got her hooked into police dramas!

@excelledyourself Scott and Bailey has been shown on ITV3 at 10pm. Series 4 is on now but hopefully they will get to the end and show the whole series again. I think it is also on ITVX but only on the premium paid-for option and I'm too tight to pay for any more TV options.

Oh well @mum2jakie Ill be giving it a miss then. 10pm telly is too late for me and I wouldn't pay either!

Re Scott and Bailey reruns, I thought I had tracked them down but they have now started messing around with the timings. Bastards. Sorry for my misleading post up thread, it is .ITV 3 not ITV x.

Annika is poor. Character is far too arch, humour is heavy handed and any charm is lost. Surprising, NW usually chooses better. Maybe it's the director's fault.

I too amn't crazy about Annika. It's grand. Plots are tied up (almost too neatly) speedily.

I've enjoyed the non plot side to it - the team and the family bits type stuff. I think the cases have too many people in them and have been too quickly tied up to really have time to think about them.

I wasnt impressed at first, but got into it more as the series went on.. the last line was a surprise, didnt pick up on that at all!
Will defo give it a go next series..

Finally caught up with the whole thing. Last line wasn't a surprise to me as I had been waiting for it. <preens> I enjoyed it, but wasn't blown away but it. Delighted to see Paul McGann, who is wearing extremely well. Very taken also with Jamie Sives, who I see was Jory in Game of Thrones. Gorgeous scenery. I wonder whether they might end up in my parents' neck of the woods for Series 2. There hasn't been a murder there for well over a century, I believe, but I don't expect they'd let that stop them!
