I tried to keep up with some scores around the tournaments yesterday failed. I did see that Bublik lost to Giron, in Geneva. Maybe he partied too hard at Cannes. .
Ben Shelton lost to Chickenato.
Meanwhile in Lyon, Diego's poor season continues with a loss to Nakashima.

It's a funny week. I am looking forward to RG- i love a slam- but it won't be the same without Rafa,

Jane I was reading about the Gaston fines. It baffles me. I know I go on about Dick- but compared to things he's done and fines he got for doing them- it seems really pretty trivial. I do appreciate though Gaston appears to have 'form' for this little trick. I guess during the actual run of play it is considered 'hindrance' and cheating, whereas swearing, spitting etc aren't part of the game itself.
Still- his whole year's winnings for dropping a ball . bet he regrets that now.

Not impressed by Gaston if he is dropping balls to replay a lost point. I always thought that you lost the point if a ball fell out your pocket. I'm sure I remember it happening a couple of times in a Murray match years ago when I think he had a new kit and the pockets weren't deep enough to keep the tennis ball secure, or something like that, and Andy decided to only have one ball at a time to avoid forfeiting any more points. But I could be talking bollocks!

Poor Stan I saw those photos yesterday. Looks even better from behind with EVIAN written across the back. He's probably thinking - the things I do for sponsors!

kazza it does seem to be something he has done a few times, Gaston. Bit daft really. Once, is an accident. After that- you're playing with fire.

Oh dear I’m not sure if it’s better or worse that Stan is being paid to wear that jacket!

Gaston is being a bit silly - I remember Andy’s cap falling off and him arguing about having to replay the point. I also seem to remember possibly Rafa’s balls being too big for his pockets but I also might have just imagined that!

I know what you mean about the French Open Raahh - I don’t feel quite as excited because Rafa won’t be there but I’m sure that I’ll enjoy it when it starts. At least there won’t be the stress of wondering how far he’ll go in the tournament - I will still miss him though

If Djok can go out in the first round that will be a bonus!

Maybe if we all wish hard enough for Djok to self combust lose early, he will. I don't think he will be quite as happy, or confident going into it as usual- but still the favourite, marginally, in the absence of Rafa (even with Carlos around).

I'm watching a bit of Baez/Fucsovics in Lyon. Marton is wearing what look like red leopard print shorts- they are horrible.

Talking of dodgy kits, have you seen Liam Broady's He doesn't sound convinced (I think he called it 'interesting') and he's asking insta followers for comments! A cross between a deckchair and dodgy 1980's flammable bedlinen would be my guess Still, he came through 1st round of qualifying today, along with a few other Brits, so we may be seeing more of it!!

Another good win for Draper today aswell.

It was usually Kyle Edmund who drew the 'Nike' short straw and never suited whatever they put they put him in .

I looked up Liam's kit and found it on instagram.

He is playing Goffin. David is not someone who would possibly rile anyone enough to get a ball aimed at him, so I don't think there will be a Cam Slam today .

The LTA have just posted a video on their Instagram of Andy talking about Liam's kit

I’ve just watched the video - the kit is pretty awful - Andy Pandy crossed with a deckchair! Poor Liam!

And unfortunately, the kit isn't distracting his opponent atm. Liam was serving at 4-1 up in the first set with a double break and somehow lost the set 6-4!!

All the Brits have lost in qualifying today. He's the last deckchair standing
