Do you know where you’ll be staying Chessie? We were near Penrith this time but usually go to Ambleside which is nice - there are some nice little shops, a few cinemas (in case of rain!) and you can walk to Grasmere from there (along the coffin route!) where Wordsworth’s Dove cottage is if you like that sort of thing
DH once made me walk up Cats Bells which is supposed to be fairly easy - I found it quite hard but there were lovely views at the top
