Personally I'd hate to have no access to my own private outside space.
Even if it's just a balcony to sit out on. I would feel claustrophobic.
That's why I thought the 2 bed flat with garden was lovely but definitely had security issues.

lollipoprainbow · 20/05/2023 11:28

Didn't like the house Eleanor and Laurence went for not sure he was that keen either! Bit elderly and ugly windows also garden looked quite cramped.

Last nights episode

Can't believe how expensive bog standard houses in the Midlands have become but glad this couple bought.

Felt sorry for the couple with £1.4 mil to spend - outbid every time and it was a pretty fugly house which needed a lot of work. Although having said that, they were a tad fussy. Loved her clothes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/05/2023 09:03

Karen and Richard have a large budget but no luck when making a deal so Kirsty helps them find a family home in West Midlands

I was shocked at how high prices were in Surrey even though I know it's notoriously expensive and for a fairly ordinary house, given the budget

I love Kirstie and Phil's rapport. He is such fun, and splitting his trousers twice is pretty good 😁. I've two more episodes to watch: it's so good to have new ones to see

Abracadabra12345 · 25/05/2023 09:23

Thanks for starting this OP and others for joining in. Sorry I'm a bit out of sync with the episodes

Me too, spending that amount of money you would expect to have the pick of the bunch. I didn't think they were fussy just knew what they wanted and when you are spending that amount you really don't want to be making compromises. They spent £1.3mil on the house which leaves them with £100,000 but there was at least 300,000 that needs spending on it and with her as an interior designer I can imagine her taste is quite expensive. Would love to see a recap on it and what they do with it.

I think the other couple will regret the no driveway and walk to their cars. They viewed it on a sunny day but can you imagine have to run across that green with your shopping in the torrential rain or walking across late at night. I wonder what the street lighting is like. It is the type of thing that will start irritating you as the years go on.

LadyEloise1 · 25/05/2023 15:14

I loved the woman's clothes too @Dulra.
That navy dress !!!!

I thought the other couple were mad to buy the house where their two cars would be some distance away. Especially when they were hoping to start a family.
Vandals etc.
I really think K or P should have pointed that out to them.

The 1.3 million house was ugly.
But they have the skillset to make it beautiful.
Will the pool stay or go ????

ThePoshUns · 25/05/2023 15:19

The woman on last night was so pretty and I loved all of her outfits. I quite liked the house. I love 70s houses like that, big rooms and big windows. Lots of potential there. I'd get rid of the pool though.

I hope they revisit to see what they did.

OnTheBoardwalk · 25/05/2023 15:23

yes I agree about the driveway and them regretting not getting the house with a drive, especially with 2 cars

i didn’t understand Kirsty showing the other couple the house at half their budget though. Telling them they could spend hundreds of thousands changing it. How were they they supposed to fund this and why would they?

I was screaming at the TV for them to buy the 1940s house! Yes I know it had 2 bedrooms, but they were good sized rooms, and the garden was plenty big enough for either an extension or a home office structure.

Havnt seen last nights. Can't seem to download on 4

Will have to wait till home

It's a dark evening in November, lashing rain, you've a baby and a wilful toddler and your shopping to get from the car to the house. Aghhhh
I really think it was bloody mean of remiss of K&P not to mention such a scenario to the couple whose "desperate to buy rose tinted glasses" would be unable to envisage such a scenario.

purpleme12 · 27/05/2023 00:43

I'm sorry but I had to laugh with them saying garden number 1 is too noisy but house number 2 ' the birds are a bit annoying' 🤣

House number 2 for the rich couple is amazing

purpleme12 · 27/05/2023 00:48

Oh my god the garden in the bungalow is amazing

purpleme12 · 27/05/2023 01:02

They said last time they bid on as house there were 26 bids! 😲 That's loads!

I liked the house too.

And I would so keep the pool!

I'm presuming because it was half the budget and they weren't afraid of doing some wotk.
They did like some aspects of the property

I grew up in a 1940s house, they are well built solid houses with good room sizes.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/05/2023 22:15

I'm
Guessing from replies they brought a house with no parking

Fools

When I brought my house many years ago I had 2 must haves

Upstairs bathroom

Parking whether drive or space right outside

Tonight’s ffs a catch up

its only e5

have they run out of people and houses after 4 episodes of new series

Kirstie and Phil catch up with two sets of house-hunters who have moved onwards and upwards. Newly-weds Liz and Carl were looking for their 'happily ever after' home. And Lynne and her guide dog Lucy were on the hunt for a bright property in Bangor.

OP posts:
purpleme12 · 31/05/2023 22:10

They always do tonnes of catch ups
Still the dog is lovely in this episode 🤣

Abracadabra12345 · 31/05/2023 22:15

Has there been any mention of the young couple who chatted to their potential new neighbours? And we're told, "You're exactly who we want as neighbours "? Then at the end, the guy is describing how he's going to open a bar and name it after himself, and said, "It's going to be a LOUD garden." Giggle giggle

😮😮

burnoutbabe · 31/05/2023 22:16

It was good, I don't remember this one.

I did fall asleep hand way though -why did the couple change from St Albans central to "need a family house"
