I didn't think there would be another series. Really looking forward to this!

Do you know when it's on?

thatgingergirl · 21/04/2023 20:10

Thursday 27th April - BBC2 at 9.00 pm. (I've just set to record!)

Thankyou!

I didn't know about this. Although felt series 2 never matched the first one.

Also, in case you can receive it, the first episode will be aired on BBC Scotland on Tuesday 2th April and on iPlayer.

May have to have a spoilers thread and a week by week thread!

IwantToRetire · 23/04/2023 20:32

first episode will be aired on BBC Scotland on Tuesday 2th April

sorry for typo that should be Tuesday 25th!

BBC Scotland - Guilt, Series 3

Brothers Jake and Max find themselves back in Scotland with a less-than-warm welcome.

redrobin75 · 25/04/2023 19:54

It's on IPlayer now.

IwantToRetire · 27/04/2023 00:06

I started watching on tuesday because I can get BBC Scotland.

And not sure if it is just me but they dont seem to have got their voice recordings quite right.

At my normal volume level I could hear everybody accept for Mark Bonnar (Max) and Jamie Sives (Jake) and as their dialogue is central to the plot became quite disgruntled.

And then I wondered if it was because they are so natural together they speak as though chatting. And / or being from south of the Border I just wasn't tuned in.

If anyone watches thursday, let me know if you have problems.

I have having to put sub titles on.

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2023 07:42

ooh,
exciting,
i enjoyed series 1 and 2

RampantIvy · 27/04/2023 07:45

Glad I spotted this. Will set to record.

Willmafrockfit · 27/04/2023 07:45

i had to watched series 2 twice, it was confusing.

LindorDoubleChoc · 27/04/2023 14:09

Sorry to be dense - has this started yet?

I LOVED series 1, wasn't so keen on series 2 - I don't think I really followed it.

redrobin75 · 27/04/2023 16:36

@LindorDoubleChoc , Scotland and iPlayer on Tuesday and BBC2 tonight.

SomeRolyPolyLittleBatFacedGirl · 27/04/2023 17:11

I watched ep 1 but I could have done with a recap of Series 2 first as I couldn't remember what happened.

newnamethanks · 28/04/2023 09:07

YES! Brilliant. S3 needed for completion. My recommendation is to watch the lot on iplayer. And concentrate or you won't know what the hell is going on as many apparently inconsequential occurrences link up later. Ahhh. My Bank Holiday viewing sorted.

OnYerBikeSteve · 05/05/2023 11:58

We finished this last night after a 'one a night' semi-binge. We really enjoyed it (although Scottish DH kept muttering 'this is Glasgow, not Edinburgh' at some of the background scenery). Mark Bonnar is one of those actors you can't take your eyes off while he's on the screen, and the soundtrack is great. Definitely agree with recommendations to binge and/or revise the first two seasons before watching - the plot is so full of double-crossing that it's so easy to get lost, and there's a financial skulduggery plotline that is 'explained' in a particularly dense chunk of exposition that made my brain glaze over.

And if you thought it was weird seeing Lady Jane from Lovejoy as a Leith crime boss, it's even more disconcerting to see Julia from Motherland's mum with a very un-Marion accent...

Lamelie · 09/05/2023 20:35

Just finished it. Wonderful. This isn’t a spoilers thread I don’t think so I’ll say no more Halo

foxlover47 · 09/05/2023 22:44

Ha ha agree about Julia from
Motherlands mum🤣🤣
I was late to the Guilt party so bunged it I really enjoyed it , I love Mark Bonner he has such a presence about him

foxlover47 · 09/05/2023 22:44

Binged even *

Willmafrockfit · 10/05/2023 08:15

i have just seen episode 1
but i am going to have to read a recap to see if that helps as regards series 2, which confused me so much i had to watch it twice

IwantToRetire · 10/05/2023 16:58

I'm still struggling with the programme makers not even being able to record the actors voices at the same level. Do any of these people actually sit down and watch what they have filmed and recorded on an ordinary tv?!!

So maybe my irritation factor has been heightened, but I really dont think this in any matched the first series. The 2nd series flagged and now this one is just a bit self indulgent and obviously they are all having a good time working together.

Also, I dont think you are meant to know what is going on. The brothers dont get it, so why would any of us. Part of the point is to have something happen that seems like out of the blue, but had we been shown back story scenes we could have guessed at.

So its more going along for the ride and being taken aback.

Willmafrockfit · 10/05/2023 18:26

it sound muffly to me, but i thought it was our tv

IwantToRetire · 10/05/2023 20:02

sorry to hear that you too have had problems - but glad to know it isn't just me!

Willmafrockfit · 13/05/2023 09:47

good ending,
satisfying

newnamethanks · 14/05/2023 22:43

It was. But. There's a baby . . .

IwantToRetire · 18/05/2023 00:12

I have finished this now and think it just doesn't compare to the first series.

And thought apart from all the quirkiness, what was the point?

Was it to teach Max a life lesson.

It didn't help that Miss Thursday seemed important and I hadn't remembered her from before.

Anyone able to give a quick response to what it was about. Or was the whole point the journey?!
