Has anyone seen this on Netflix? I have no idea why I even put it on, if anyone told me what it was about I wouldn't think it was my sort of thing at all...

Yet I Can't. Stop. Watching.

I don't need sleep right? I can just binge it all in one night like lockdowns 2020...

I really enjoyed it. To be honest I only really watched it for David Choe (cousin Isaac) as he is one of my favourite artists and he did not dissapoint. Really loved that they had him create each of the episodes title cards.

I loved that too. He’s an incredible artist but also so funny. The chase scene up the stairs in Vegas we were cracking up. The guy who plays George is a great artist too. Yet the whole show openly mocks how wanky the art scene is.

There are so many different things I just love about it.

I also love Jordan’s story arc 😆 the perfect outcome.

Thank you @PoseyFlump

Loved the ending.

We really really liked this. Finished the whole series. Been a while since I liked something this much.

The two leads are very charismatic and even when they're doing awful things, we still found ourselves rooting for them and that's quite hard to pull off.

And every character in it was given something that made them compelling in their own right.

The awfulness of Jordan. The cringeworthy therapy speak of George. Isaac shifting between threatening and caring. And I alternated between wanting to punch and hug Paul.

Had shades of Parasite (the stark comparison between wealth and money struggles).

Loved it.

It also reminds me of Parasite too
How certain events can change your life

Just finished this last night and absolutely loved it. All of the actors did a fantastic job.

I watched the first two episodes and gave up with it. It's annoying rather than entertaining.

I couldn't get into it all. Tried to for 3 or so episodes. Not interesting at all and a bit silly.

PoseyFlump · 15/04/2023 08:17

Definitely this! It's much easier to pull this off in a book than on screen. They did it excellently.

Im now torn between wanting this to be a one-off standalone series and wanting to see more. Maybe a second series with completely different characters?

HRTQueen · 16/04/2023 13:43

I absolutely loved it

The underlying tension of modern day life in a big city (I’m sure has always been there just plays out differently) quite a piss take on LA culture

i thought her clothes were extremely drab but it’s a serene stylised look like her house drab but promotes calmness which isn’t her personality at all

There were some very funny laugh out loud moments particularly with Junie and Issac

I loved the ending and most definitely watch it again at some point

I feel the same posey

I loved the characters and would love to see more of them they were all so well written, directed and acted but the story wrapped up

this story could be told again and again in a different setting and being different elements to that culture

Have just binge watched this over 2 days and absolutely loved this. One of those shows that makes you feel bereft when it's all over. The last episode was brilliant. Think I'll have to watch it all over again.
Would definitely recommend Ali Wongs stand up, she's very funny

FrostyFifi · 30/04/2023 13:16

I've just finished this as well, and loved it for all the reasons people have already expressed more eloquently than me. The almost painful sympathy I found myself feeling for all of the very flawed, human characters.
One thing I also really liked was how the church community wasn't presented in a mocking way, some of the most powerful scenes for me were connected to that.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/05/2023 23:54

The terrible things they are doing for no reason. The things Danny does to his brother but you end up feeling sorry for everyone

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 13/06/2023 21:11

The guy who played Danny was Sheldons first roommate in TBBT (flashback episode where Leonard moves in).

Enjoyed it more as it went along. But it did spiral a bit. I wanted the last episode to just be them in their hell. So dead and suffering from each other for eternity.
