Has anyone seen this on Netflix? I have no idea why I even put it on, if anyone told me what it was about I wouldn't think it was my sort of thing at all...

Yet I Can't. Stop. Watching.

I don't need sleep right? I can just binge it all in one night like lockdowns 2020...

I like to google shows I really enjoy and I read something about the costumes, they wanted Amy to look clean, neutral and chic but a bit uncomfortable as if she was trying to project an image of a sophisticated and relaxed woman and it really wasn't her.
the hat she wore in the first few episodes was awful though!

Wow they totally nailed her costumes if that’s what they were going for. They were obviously very chic and clean but she did seem so uncomfortable in them - almost like she was drowning in them and constantly adjusting them, some were almost straitjacket-like. I feel like this show will just improve the more times I watch it and unpick more. I’ve just finished it and already want to start it again.

Also binged the Night Agent. Not in the same league as Beef imo. It’s good in a ‘suspend disbelief and go with the pace,’ type way, but I was ultimately disappointed by it.

Beef I was just on the edge of my seat the entire time. Also pleased I have a new euphemism for masturbating; “take the gun out of the safe.” 😅Always handy!

I've not finished it yet, but I am totally hooked and it's the best thing I've seen on Netflix in a while.

That car chase in episode 2 (?) was ridiculous tbf Grin TAKE THE WHEEL! did you get the number plate? damn. Grin

I finished Beef last night. I'm so sad it's over! It did not end how I expected. I read somewhere they're considering making more but not with the same characters. More along the lines of Dirty John with different stories each season. Not sure how I feel about that. I liked the dynamic between Amy and Danny!

@the80sweregreat I think the history between Japan and Korea is not great. Maybe it’s a hangover from japan annexing Korea in the early 20th century and the comfort women. These were appalling and I’m no authority on it I’ve just read the book panchinko (which I would recommend).

I'm on episode 3 and it’s good. Funny, sad, engaging and a little bit stressful.

One unfortunate thing is I read the reviews beforehand as I always do and someone mentioned the lead actress’ over use of facial expressions and then I couldn’t not notice it

I've done one episode and it was alright. Nothing particularly grabbed me

I did one episode of the night agent - didn't watch any more as it was just really silly and unbelievable m

There's gotta be something out there that immediately grabs?!

Finished it this evening and really enjoyed it. A good choice if you like your shows on the darker side

Finished it last night. We really enjoyed it. My DP has a short attention span and gives up on most tv series easily but he made it through this one no bother.

I would have been happy for the series to end with episode nine as it seemed to have gone full circle but I guess they threw in episode ten for those who like stuff a little more sewn up!

I liked all the characters. We saw why they were how they were, even down to George feeling like he wasn't good enough for his parents. There was only one character I didn't like and I was most happy with the way her story progressed! 😂

3 episodes in and enjoying it. I didn’t really like the first one but it’s definitely picked up. Great acting from the two main characters!

I only watched this for Ali Wong, the actress that plays Amy, but I'm enjoying it so far. Her stand up is much, much better though and all of them are on Netflix.

I think I know the bit that makes it 18 and I don't think the camera lingers too long. I'd be okay with it.

I really enjoyed it. To be honest I only really watched it for David Choe (cousin Isaac) as he is one of my favourite artists and he did not dissapoint. Really loved that they had him create each of the episodes title cards.
