I can’t believe people don’t watch this show. God bless you all, missing out on this!

I’ve just started watching it again. It’s on Netflix.
I agree about the Julia quote “Get back it’s not the Antiques Roadshow.”

😁😆

"Miehn craft" drawing as presented to me by my 5yo, had to share here, not enough people in RL would get why I found it quite so funny!!!

There's a soft play place I drive past quite often called 'Kidsaurus'& every time I see it makes me think of Liz asking Kevin if he works at 'Kidistan'

The best ones have all been said but I liked the bit where Liz and Lee were talking about Henry 8th

Lee - did you know he had 8 wives?

Liz -no he didn't, he had 6

Lee - No he had 8, that's why he was called Henry the 8th. Did you know, one if them was a ghost!

Other good ones

Lee - I quite like having 2 wives

Liz - Well if you like having 2 balls, contact your solicitor!

In the shit shop episode

Kevin was freaking out

Julia - We didn't do it!

Liz - Or did we?!

Later in the episode,

Kevin (musing) - I don't think Jill would have the kids if I went to prison

The long locker as mentioned by a pp. Went swimming yesterday and there were a few posher looking long lockers away from the ordinary ones, with mini hangers in. Thought of Julia.

joelmillersbackpack · 03/05/2023 18:46

Always think of Julia when I see a long locked at my council pool

I've just watched the Mother's Day episode, Julia really makes me laugh in that one. 'Oh, stick it up your hole' Grin also when Meg is upset that it could be her last Mother's Day, 'I must warn you I'm not very good with crying, or empathy'

I absolutely love that episode. The impulsive hug that Julia gives Meg after their heart to heart (she does do empathy....deep down!) and Meg's startled but delighted laugh - it's just lovely.

Also Kevin and Liz's trip to his mum's grave.

And the whole scene with Amanda and Joanna Lumley as her appalling mother, and when Anne and her mother come into the restaurant to see them, and it's just so poignant. Fine, fine acting and writing.

Really quite hard to write great comedy with moments of true pathos and tragedy.

A ridiculous single traffic light popped up overnight on the school run yesterday there for no apparent reason. I was so tempted just to go through, reminded me of Julia. 'Why are you here?' !

That’s such a great episode and amazing writing, you’re absolutely right.

When Amanda finds out about her ex's new girlfriend Tamara

"I used to work with a Tamara. She was a stupid fat bitch but I'm sure yours is really nice"

😂😂 I'd forgotten that one!

The Cavalry: Don't waste a real slice

MeinKraft · 15/06/2023 12:44

Just rewatching the episode where Julia goes self employer and her phone rings. 'Oh maybe it's Unilever!' Looks at phone 'no, it's Paul' 😄

MeinKraft · 15/06/2023 16:02

Anne: you're never more than a metre away from a pervert Grin

ChessieFL · 17/06/2023 19:41

‘Bubbles?’ ‘Sparkles?’ ‘Sparkly bubbles?’ ‘Bubbly sparkles?’

Needhelp101 · 18/06/2023 00:35

🤣

mizu · 18/06/2023 21:45

Has anyone mentioned Julia's labia? "Chubby and one hell of a hoof in a leotard".

Stayfreshcheesebag · 03/09/2023 22:22

Amanda's Evil Santa game.

Julia: 'Oh, a lemon squeezer' (disappointed)

Anne: but it's from LAKELAND.
