Thought I’d better start a new thread before today’s episode as the old one was almost full.

At least we’ve got a break from Nina until next week.

OP posts:

This bloke is now doing the 'preachy serious bit'

FFS. Who wrote this drivel.

MNbingo · 10/05/2023 14:18

Well that was even worse than I expected.

Kaftankween · 10/05/2023 14:18

It’s like watching a school play that’s accidentally got on television. It’s absolutely terrible

MadisonAvenue · 10/05/2023 14:27

That was appalling.
Good episodes are a rarity now though.

I had to stop watching part way through today. What are the writers and producers thinking of 🤷‍♀️

LIZS · 10/05/2023 18:45

Missed the end but assume not much!

GuiltyPleasure · 10/05/2023 20:55

I've just about got over my second hand embarrassment & absolute cringing for everyone involved this ridiculous episode.
I've seen a more cohesive and better acted plot in a primary school drama production 😂

EspeciallyDedicated · 10/05/2023 21:21

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse there is a spoiler for next Thurs on the Doctors insta page which has made me feel even more annoyed with the producers.

O.M.G ! Nooooooooo...

Binglebong · 10/05/2023 22:38

That. Was. Dire.

All this week has been to be honest. Not sure how much longer I will last.

Omg I just looked. No way!!

Raahh · 11/05/2023 07:05

I wondered if anyone had read spoilers.

It really is going from bad to worse (if it was possible for it to get worse).

Doctors was my 'bit daft, fills half an hour' thing. I enjoyed it for it's silliness and occasional ok storyline. Now it's just constantly irritating me.

EspeciallyDedicated · 11/05/2023 07:19

The filler episodes where there's generally only one staff member seem to be the best ones now.

Raahh · 11/05/2023 07:24

Especially true. And then I spend all my time thinking that no GP would be able to spend an entire shift chasing after one patient Grin.

JustDanceAddict · 11/05/2023 07:28

Very true @Raahh - was a chill-out half hour usually when I get in from work on iplayer but I only half watch now unless an interesting patient/medical issue.
I lobbed off Corrie and Easties years ago so it’s mad I’m still watching Doctors - prob because it’s not an evening programme and it’s a bit of ‘me time’.

Binglebong · 11/05/2023 08:22

Not going to look for the spoiler (unless it comes up on my feed) but Al isn't leaving, is he?? Because that is my final straw.

Raahh · 11/05/2023 09:05

Bingle I can't say I've heard anything to suggest Al is leaving- but to be honest, Karen 'leaving' was a bit of a shock (although the heart attack indicated something might happen).

I won't be happy if Al leaves. They can't afford to keep losing the 'decent' actors!

LilyAndTheKing · 11/05/2023 09:39

I accidentally saw that spoiler, I'm not too bothered by it. Nothing is as dire as cilla and Krusty.

LilyAndTheKing · 11/05/2023 09:40

Nina/Cilla

LilyAndTheKing · 11/05/2023 09:42

And I fast forwarded Tuesday's when Nina was talking, I can't bear it.
I'm not bothering with yesterday's at all, so if anything important unlikely happened would someone kindly let me know.

EspeciallyDedicated · 11/05/2023 09:49

Nothing to do with Al. If he left I think I might give up.

martinisforeveryone · 11/05/2023 10:08

The spoiler is just another silly stretch of the imagination 🙄

I honestly think the scriptwriters and storylines are kept in a locked darkened room with copious amounts of alcohol, writing more and more stupid suggestions to randomly pluck from a hat. They’re kept anonymous for obvious reasons. When they’re finally let out, mere shreds of their former selves, they join in with casting and directorial decisions.

To think, they’re currently lobbying for votes in TV awards 🤣

I don’t watch soaps. No Corrie, Eastenders, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks. I never watched Casualty or Holby. I have no idea why I started watching Doctors, maybe it’s my lunch time sit down break? I need to take a look at myself.

NancyPickford · 11/05/2023 12:25

I've been lurking on this thread for a while, I enjoy the comments and never really have anything to add. However! I am delurking to agree with everyone about the sheer awfulness of yesterday's episode, how the actors can bear it I don't know. It used to be an agreeable wee half hour while I ate my lunch, but it's so toe-curlingly embarrassing now I may have to ditch it. Anyone on here old enough to remember Crossroads? This is worse!!!

Raahh · 11/05/2023 13:03

Crossroads Grin maybe it's a Midlands thing?
Nancy I like the 'daft' episodes, the dressing up, the light hearted bits- when they do them well, they are great.
But yesterday was just too cringy and so completely far-fetched.
A GPs surgery wouldn't be getting that involved in the housing development thing in the first place- even if one or two members of staff were passionate about it. They would never get the whole lot of them on board.

At least when they were planning on planting newts to stop the 'mega surgery' , it made sense to the plot of the show!Grin

Raahh · 11/05/2023 13:47

Strange camera angle- is it a big kitchen, or just the camera ?
