Thought I’d better start a new thread before today’s episode as the old one was almost full.

At least we’ve got a break from Nina until next week.

Spoon sharing Shock

I know. And back into the Thai green curry

martinisforeveryone · 06/04/2023 14:04

Flipping heck. I was enjoying the Scarlett and Luca cooking together storyline and then Luca tasted curry from the pan using the big kitchen spoon and asked Scarlett to taste too - using the same spoon. Sake! Bit of a juxtaposition with Ronnie's germ phobic story.

Raahh · 06/04/2023 14:05

Nina has a massive kitchen. And a none speaking cleaner.

martinisforeveryone · 06/04/2023 14:05

We have a hat trick of spoon horror 😁

doctorsnoddy · 06/04/2023 14:08

What a tedious POTD

LilyAndTheKing · 06/04/2023 14:08

Yup I was coming on to mention the double dipping and spoon sharing...my pet hate 🤢

Raahh · 06/04/2023 14:09

Can we keep Auntie Binita and ditch Nina. At least Nina Wadia can act.

LilyAndTheKing · 06/04/2023 14:10

I'd be spilling that wine over auntie Binita

LilyAndTheKing · 06/04/2023 14:10

I wonder if they both look when someone says Nina 😅

Quite understated, but my favourite line today was 'case is just outside' directed at Nina.

LilyAndTheKing · 06/04/2023 14:11

I don't think Suni is too thin, looks fine to me.

LilyAndTheKing · 06/04/2023 14:13

Oh dear bloody Ollie and his useless dad next time.

Raahh · 06/04/2023 14:18

I like Scarlett and Luca cooking together. (Haven't got to the spoon yet Grin).

Heston's bench is getting a lot of use this week.

Raahh · 06/04/2023 14:22

Scarlett is one of the most sensible people in the programme.

Raahh · 06/04/2023 14:23

Has Emma got time to spend half the day with Ronnie and his family dramas?

martinisforeveryone · 06/04/2023 16:42

Time means nothing in Doctors does it. Whether it's fitting people in for appointments, dropping around patients' houses just to check up on them, or keeping the surgery open to 8.30pm.

Scarlett and Luca were cooking the evening meal, so it seemed odd to see it interspersed with Emma at the surgery.

Raahh · 06/04/2023 17:06

martini it's the day/night confusions that get me (as well as the out of sync seasonsGrin). They are always off for drinks after work in the Icon- and it's rarely ever dark. And then it will still be mid afternoon when they show other things.

I really like the change in her character since Brian moved away.

OP posts:
Raahh · 06/04/2023 19:16

Yes, she's allowed herself to both grow up, but also be a young adult at the same time- if that makes sense.

I understand why they did the storyline they did, with her and Brian (even though it was a bit heavy handed at times) but it's nice to have a young character be allowed to be 'young'.

I did feel sorry for her today- she said something about there being a lot of changes- and she has been through a lot. I've a feeling her time at Kirsty's might be short lived , but that might not be a bad thing.

Emma has plenty room Grin.

Long time lurker here. I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but it appears Daniel Granger is leaving too! Came up on Digital Spy and also on Matt Chambers twitter.

Also delurking! Yes, I though Matt Chambers’ tweet hinted at undercurrents - otherwise why the need to deny them?

“Just to be absolutely clear. I have had a wonderful time on @BBCDoctors over all 15 years. There is no mystery surrounding my departure, no subterfuge. I am leaving because it was time to go.”

I did wonder whether the scriptwriters had been trolling him with pro-vaccination stories, as the actor is loudly anti-vax IRL (possibly Covid denier or conspiracy theorist? Not sure).

LIZS · 07/04/2023 12:07

So have we seen the last of Daniel or is his exit to come?

Raahh · 07/04/2023 12:23

I knew he was leaving- all the storylines leading up to it were very obvious (ditching the partnership etc).
Unlike Sarah/Val it has never been mentioned directly. That was in the press quite well in advance. But of course Jan/Gobby leaving was a bit of a 'shock'.
I would be surprised if that swift, 'blink and you'd forget the conversation even happened -off to his mother's' bit was his actual exit. It seems very abrupt for a long standing character. But stranger things have happened!

Raahh · 07/04/2023 12:27

LIZS the tweet was on the 5th of April and showed a final script- which suggests he hasn't left yet, but was filming his final scenes then.

So that could mean he's in it for a while yet - or it's a 'flashback'Grin

Raahh · 07/04/2023 12:29

Daniel leaving means we hopefully won't see a return of the awful Izzy, any way. <silver linings>.
