BBC DOCTORS - No No to Nina but Suni can stay

Thought I’d better start a new thread before today’s episode as the old one was almost full.

At least we’ve got a break from Nina until next week.

None of the episodes fit together any more, I think...

I believe tomorrows episode jumps forward 3 weeks from Karens death so should bring things back into sync.

@KilledByWitches at least that's something. I just think it would have made more sense for that episode to be aired today and Suni's episode tomorrow.

What is it with the mothers trying to run their sons' lives in Doctors?

Kirsty, Ollie and the army, Nina shoe horning Suni into a job without even asking him and now this pair.

Why have they put an old episode on?

I'm catching up now. Disappointed to see I was right about filler episode- they always do that after a 'big' event. It really gets on my nerves!

It's very random going back to the explosion after math .

Clearly, they wanted the Karen storyline done in a certain time frame.

And Nina's scars soon disappeared.

I did see that there will be a 'time hop' - makes sense really, avoids having to show the immediate aftermath of Karen's death. Probably avoids the need for a funeral episode, and 'why are half the people who should have been there, not there'.

See, why didn't they show this in the past weeks? There were plenty of other 'filler' episodes- and it would have made some of the Nina/Suni things make more sense.

This is just odd, talking about stuff that has already happened.

Also (rambling) - not seen Suni doing any clinics at St Phil's since he started at the Mill.

He doesn't actually seem to happy at Nina's interfering. And seemed to question that the Mill have just accepted them both, without question.

We feel the same, Suni.

Does Suni never get changed? They keep meeting at the Icon- and he's in the same position and wearing the same stuff.

Just catching up. This is most bizarre even by Doctors standards but I agree Nina's accent is better today. I keep wanting to call her Cilla.

Her accent was less ott yesterday- but I wonder if it will stay like that. Still don't like her- and want her to be exposed as a fake
It did show that Suni had slightly more awareness re-the nepotism situation, and suddenly geting a job (that had not previously seemed to exist)- and maybe he's not as entitled as his first day at the Mill made him look. So I liked that part of it- maybe he can stand up to his mother a bit.

I've read comments in other places -and lots of people are confused as to whether the episode was out of sync, or always meant to be shown this much later- since the whole 'flashback' nature of it was a bit odd.

But it was a strange episode.

Today will be a tough one, I think.

It would have felt weird and out of place whenever it was shown I think. It is also very strange that a massive event like the explosion has never been mentioned again. But that is normal for Doctors - when Zara was held hostage in her house by the creepy twin lover bloke it was never really mentioned again. In real life these things would have a massive impact on people.

Especially it's quite daft that the explosion has not been referred to since. An episode about therapy , Zara having a couple of wobbles- and ...that's it. No sign of delayed trauma, or hints of PTSD. Zara and Al could have died.
It was strange plot device to introduce Nina. The whole delay in showing it- and then the episodes being all over the place, hasn't helped.

But it is usual for them to move on from big storylines with no mention of anything again. I suppose all soaps do it to some extent- but Doctors seems to be one of the worst offenders!

It was the first thing I noticed and she was much more bearable.
My first thought was that producers had read all the comments on both her and Kirsty’s accents online, Facebook and Twitter are full of complaints which they can’t really fail to notice, but then I realised it’s an older episode so not something recently filmed.

hopefully they will be talking on board what’s being posted by fans and they will start to dilute them both down.

Small heads up though. I know we all thought we’d avoid a funeral but there do seem to be some funeral scenes in todays episode so it’s going to be another sad one.

Yes, I saw the FB pictures. Will be very sad. I had wondered if the time jump idea was to avoid funeral scenes, but clearly not.

I thought the footballer episode was trying to draw a parallel between interfering mothers in both cases. Nina is definitely running her son's career 😔
