Thought I'd make a new thread ready for tonight's episode...we've managed to fill the first one already!

No. they were married at the time and had therefore committed to each other. You stay committed even if things are rocky and until you actually break up and divorce.

Your view has Harrison vibes. What's so bad about taking someone's number when you don't even live with your wife? It's the same principle. And he didn't even kiss anyone.

Even if she'd dumped Jesse by then she should have spared a thought for Janelle.

Groutyonehereagain · 28/03/2023 22:55

Tayla really reminds me of Katie Price.

DarlingG · 28/03/2023 23:03

@Twatalert Harrison was already in a fully fledged relationship with Bronte when he took someone’s number and they’d been intimate. As I have clearly stated, no one should be kissing anyone when signed up to the experiment but the two of them were doing everything by themselves, even travelling alone to the dinner parties. In a normal world that wouldn’t constitute a relationship or marriage. Jesse could not have been less nice to her from the word go but seems to have drastically turned a corner in the last episode or two

Italiangreyhound · 28/03/2023 23:04

Tayla is going to be hard work.

Italiangreyhound · 28/03/2023 23:04

Evelyn is stunning.

dapsnotplimsolls · 28/03/2023 23:07

Just caught up - I had to skip some of the more awkward bits!

Romeiswheretheheartis · 28/03/2023 23:07

Evelyn's dad looked distinctly unimpressed with Rupert.

MelsMoneyTree · 28/03/2023 23:11

Evelyn was trying so hard with her 'chat' and posing for the photos, and getting nothing in return. Her DH was acting as though he'd wandered into the wrong studio and got married by mistake.
Poor Jesse. I always thought it was odd that Claire hadn't just showed him her phone and told him who was on the call. Now it seems as though that was all deflection so she had something to feel self-righteous about when she knew she'd snogged Adam. (Also what crap taste she has - Adam is a sleazeball).

Proudofitbabe · 28/03/2023 23:14

@DarlingG I agree with you. Yes they were married but Jesse at that point was the pantomime villain and had been since the wedding. He'd been treating Claire badly, shown not one iota of interest. Said he had "the ick" etc. Claire had no reason to think he'd give a shit. It only feels like a hideous betrayal because they've since formed a bond out of nowhere. Really upsetting for Jesse obviously, he'd let his guard down and fallen for her a bit. I can see why he'd sack her off because trust is ruined.

I'd say it's really poor and selfish from Claire towards Janelle, mainly. She does seem to like drama.

Not surprising from Adam. He seems harmless enough but I never got the sense he was in it for genuine reasons!

Proudofitbabe · 28/03/2023 23:16

And obviously the gaslighting towards Jesse was totally unacceptable given he was bang on. But then what else could they do on the spot?! Claire couldn't exactly fess up she'd snogged Janelle's BF. Crappy behavior from them both but I can sort of see how it played out like it did!

happinessischocolate · 28/03/2023 23:20

I felt bad for Jesse. One thing to find out your wife's cheated and another to realise she's also made you look like a crazy jealous twat in front of a load of virtual strangers.

Exactly, she shouldn't have kissed Adam whilst taking part in this experiment, but Jesse had been an absolute twat towards her so I can see how it happened.

Gaslighting Jesse and making out it was all in his head, demanding an apology and watching him go and apologise to Adam! Nope nope nope.

But I suppose we need a stereotypical bad woman now Brontë has turned into a stepford wife and mad eyed mel has left.

Tbf it's in front of millions of views across the world! That's gaslighting on a global scale.

JellyBeanFactory · 29/03/2023 09:29

Rupert remind me of Dean Gaffney who played Robbie in Eastenders.

Not keen on either of the new couples, I never like latecomers as they always change the vibe of what we've got used to!

This 100%. It was definitely how she treated him afterwards that was awful, the way she shouted at and mocked him in their room was really nasty. If she had admitted straight away though then they would never have actually worked on their relationship. Jesse had not given her a chance at all but he did after that incident.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/03/2023 09:40

Poor Jesse, after he made her a TimTam platter and everything. Adam has literally nothing going on and I don’t get what Claire would see in him? He’s just dull.
They totally gaslighted him. And poor Janelle too, I hope her brothers are let loose on him.

ImAGoodPerson · 29/03/2023 09:40

I think Evelyn is trying really hard, Tayla is awful, I think actually the worst woman this year (or at least in line with Melissa)

They are all a bit grim. The shy bloke is awful! Both girls are in it for the gram.

Kefir · 29/03/2023 09:44

Omg I'd forgotten about the brothers!

Moral of the story is watch the wedding, listen to the friends and family comments and be aware of what the producers leave in! It's all relevant!

SinisterBumFacedCat · 29/03/2023 09:45

Tayla reminds me of Katie Price in that she seems to have no filter at all. I kind of remember Evelyn from Big Brother and she is quite straight talking, I think they have totally miss matched her with Rupert. I think Rupert is totally uncomfortable with the cameras.

Rupert makes me feel so uncomfortable, they are ridiculous matches. What on earth were the experts thinking.

The experts are just useful idiots - I'd imagine they have absolutely no input

Maybe she's there to get off with someone else? Harrison?

I watch it for the entertainment now but I did really like the early series where they did actually try to get people in who were potential matches.

I find Claire an interesting character. I'm not sure she really knows who she is. In her audition she said how she wanted to find someone who really got her. But I'm not sure she gets herself. I suspect that Jesse's mean comments on honeymoon really hurt and so she kissed Adam because she liked the attention again. But also as a massive fuck you to Jesse. Perhaps she intended to stay in the show in order to create a scandal with Adam and get more airtime but then realised that she wasn't really a person who could go through with that. The guilt was too much.

Honeyroar · 29/03/2023 11:43

I really didn’t enjoy watching the new pairs. And how contrived having the other couples go to the weddings (and laugh at their nervousness!!). I felt very sorry for shy boy. He was getting eaten alive by his new partner, and she knew she was making him worse but kept digging at him. I didn’t like her at all. Just a me person.

As for Jesse and Claire, hmm, at that point Jesse was being so cold and it looked like the relationship wouldn’t get off the ground, so I can possibly forgive her snogging someone else. But to kiss someone else’s partner? And then to lie to Jesse and massively gaslight him, that’s a red card on both counts. Same for Adam, who obviously hasn’t meant a word he’s said about his “happy, going well” relationship either. How do you ever come back from someone lying to your face for so long? You can’t! Jesse was horrible at the start, I still wouldn’t want to be with him, but at least he says what’s going on!

But why am I so involved? It’s not real!!
