Who will go with them? Is there time for new bombshells? 12 days to go. Bring it.

Sorry Ron but sadly for you we do ALL think that

All of them in the villa think the same thing.
Ron was more touchy feely with Tanyel who was supposed to be his best mate

TellingBone · 03/03/2023 22:00

Wasn't keen on Samie's outfit there

Oh goodness Ron is in for a shock 😂 your a twat mate, class A twat.

Boulshired · 03/03/2023 22:10

Shaq saying the other night that him and Tanya were spending lots of time with Olivia and Maxwell, well Olivia slyness as certainly rubbed off. The villa is clearly divided in two.

It's a weird season. No one seems to really get along with anyone. Maybe it's the editing but I didn't really notice such a divide in previous seasons.

And the boys as well in previous seasons always seemed to have each others back and there was only friction if a new boy entered and went after their couple. But even then it was soon put to rest and everyone moved on. This season the boys seem to just about tolerate each other at times.

vjg13 · 03/03/2023 23:45

Tanya and Shaq's bitching about the other couples seems to show a desperate need to win. I actually thought Casey was trying to be nice when he said not to comment on Jessie crying. Rosie seems comfortable blurting out nasty comments.

Saved myself from some cringeworthy bits by forwarding the hideaway "action".

CarpyDiem · 04/03/2023 07:43

Ron didn't seem to grasp that sexual chemistry isn't a synonym for pawing each other all the time - it's shown in the way a couple moves and looks at each other (remember Liam and Millie and how it was so obvious between them from the off?) So even if you are "saving yourself for the outside" you can still have amazing chemistry. They just haven't.

Didn't get why Jessie burst into tears - I just couldn't see adequate cause (though do sympathise with the idea that the stress gets too much from time to time). Will parked the boyfriend/girlfriend convo, which can't have helped.

I think him and Tanyel seemed to have more chemistry and affection between them than he does with Lana. Unless the editing hasn't done them justice.

CrkdLttrCrkdLttr · 04/03/2023 07:58

There was such an odd moment when Ron and Lana and a couple of others were together and Ron was talking - Lana was staring out into the universe, completely disengaged from the conversation. He had to sort of drag her back to daybed world.

(Don’t like to be harsh but have we ever heard her say a witty, clever, thoughtful or even bitchy thing? I’ve no doubt she has a character and personality - just wonder why she didn’t bring them to the villa. She must have done something to persuade the producers she would be entertaining on screen?)

XelaM · 04/03/2023 08:13

Ron and Tanyel definitely had more sexual chemistry. Ron and Lana never even kiss properly- it's always a quick peck on the lips and there is no sexual chemistry whatsoever.

Lana comes across as very passive. I remember at the kissing challenge when Tanyel was kissing Ron for ages and she seemed ok about it. Even when some of the girls took her aside and said there is something going on with Tanyel and Ron, she barely reacted.
Surely, if you saw the woman who was meant to be your best mate kiss the man you like with such passion you would be thinking wtf!? Especially, if the rest of your friends pulled you aside and said something isn't right.
Maybe she is a very chilled/trusting person or she is actually the biggest game player of them all!

I think she was meant to be the Camilla Thurlow of this season and that's why the producers picked her. The sweet, innocent girl that gets screwed over but everything works out in the end and the public labels her as the nation's sweetheart. It's possible Lana sees herself that way too, hence not voicing any opinions too strongly in an attempt to keep that innocent persona going.

Lampzade · 04/03/2023 08:57

Ron strikes me as the type of man who likes Lana because she is the pretty safe option.
She is the one you can take back to the family and everyone would approve of her.
He would marry her, but cheat on her with the likes of Sammie and Tanyel who are more his type.
He was definitely more relaxed when he was around Tanyel.

beastlyslumber · 04/03/2023 09:06

I don't understand why Ron didn't get with Tanyel. Was it because Shaq had it right, that he chose Lana because she's popular? I suspect it must be.

God, they really did kick out all the interesting people early on and left us with the ones who know how to play the game.

Tom and Samie are the only ones who seem to genuinely like each other. I liked Kai and Sanam too, but after the bedding ceremony I thought they both looked really awkward and a bit upset. I feel like that public display probably killed any genuine attraction they had for one another. Sanam in particular looked like she was going to cry the next morning.

CellophaneFlower · 04/03/2023 09:07

It did make me laugh that Lana said they are saving their PDA for when they're outside alone. Does she not know what the P stands for 🤔

Also, twice during last night Samie spoke in exactly the same voice as Olivia. When she said she was sweating, she even pronounced the t 😱

I don't particularly like Casey, but I'm not sure he deserves the hatred he gets on here. If he really was that argumentative, he would have made something out of that comment from Jessie, but he wasn't that fussed.

Tanya looks like such a small child with no make up on. The way Shaq always picks her up reminds me of a dad at the park with his daughter 😂

Boulshired · 04/03/2023 09:27

I was gutted when Kai and Sanam got chosen, Sanam had managed to avoid any real damage and portrayed herself that if life after love island didn’t work out she could return. Whilst it would be nice to have normal average people the risk of damage to reputation for a chance of success that is diminishing each series is just not worth it.

CellophaneFlower · 04/03/2023 09:53

I think the hideaway itself is fine. They just need to remove the outfits and handcuffs etc. Absolutely nothing wrong with that stuff in private, but no viewers are interested in seeing it.

It should be set up as more of a spa retreat, rather than a seedy brothel.

louise5754 · 04/03/2023 10:59

I've been behind 6 episodes. Finally caught up. Obviously those episodes will have been discussed.

I think Samie and Claudia should have been in from the start.

I really like them both but Claudia is becoming obsessed. Maybe she knows if the boys are to choose she will go but there is Keenan. How many days were they actually together?

I think they only chose each other as there was no one else?

When I read Samie I say Same-y in my head.

Bye Olivia. Although I think it should have been the least favourite islander not based on compatibly as Olivia will now think it's Naxwells fault.

I wonder what Iian thinks to having to narrate Maya. Did Laura have conflicting schedules / want to stay home with her baby / leave / got the sack?

How embarrassing for Keenan. Not much point in him going in

Surprised Claudia had her arm around Olivia

I think if they were in earlier Claudia and Tom would couple up and they live quite close.

louise5754 · 04/03/2023 11:01

Also you know it's a crap series when you have to fast forward 6 episodes. Not liked any couples. Crappiest series yet. Best one for me was Ken / Chris / Olivia and Tommy / Mollie May

Zampa · 04/03/2023 11:06

Will parked the boyfriend/girlfriend convo, which can't have helped

This is a Gen Z thing that I just don't get. You're in love but the boy/girl friend thing isn't automatic?!

Unless the labels are a Love Island thing, indicating seriousness rather than what happens in real life?

louise5754 · 04/03/2023 11:11

Also the LI threads were in active so I kind of knew who went etc. I agree can we not put any results in the title?

I have mentioned this before and they all have different ideas of the order too. Like Gemma and Luca said they loved each other but didn't want to become exclusive !until they left the villa? How can you be in love but still open?! It's definitely a LI thing though, nobody says "Will you be my bf/gf IRL surely (unless kids these days have turned very wet).

I also find it interesting that the girl's always differ on the marry or kiss in that challenge. Some would prefer their partner to kiss them but marry someone else? Weird! I really fancy you, but you're not nice enough to take home to meet my mum is what I take from that!

Boulshired · 04/03/2023 11:47

My 20 year old DD can’t even fathom the dating stages. It just seems like a pass to have whoever you want. With no particular running order. At least when I was in the dating scene if someone cheated you binned or forgave and not the gas lighting crap of your my boyfriend/girlfriend but that doesn’t mean exclusively. I don’t even remember being asked to be a girlfriend, it was just seeing someone and then blended in.

CellophaneFlower · 04/03/2023 12:00

I guess it's a totally different environment in there though. It can only really be likened to speed dating in the outside world, just slowed down!

Deffo is a Gen Z thing. There are so many different stages/labels now; talking to someone, in a thing with someone, situationships, FWB’s, being exclusive and then girlfriend and boyfriend. In no particular order and no rules.

DD (17) has been seeing her boy for 4 months. Despite the fact that they see each other every available moment they can, are sleeping together, clearly besotted with each other and neither interested in anyone else they were adamant that they didn’t want “anything serious” and weren’t girlfriend and boyfriend. He asked her to be his girlfriend a few weeks ago, 4 months after they started seeing each other. I just don’t understand this generation. It must be a bit of a mind fuck though, I feel sorry for them.
