I can't imagine anyone being accepted back into teaching after being on Love Island?

I know a couple of people who know Kai and apparently he is a genuinely lovely guy.

Whilst I think he could get some modelling work, not sure he's got the right personality for some of the things other LI contestants have done on the outside. Hope it all works out for him.

Having said that, I don’t think we’ve seen him doing anything noticeably shameful, have we? Few snogs and some stilted, scripted ‘conversation’. So he may not have killed his regular salary.

Personally I would take a pretty dim view of a school that employed a teacher who had paraded around on national TV “on job” with multiple females for 8 weeks. Hardly a responsible role model and I doubt he’d have much respect from his students. Most teachers have to be incredibly strict with their social media in order to keep their private life’s off the radar from students so I would say that this is an absolute no go.

Having said that what did Hugo do? Although I seem to think he was right at the start of his teaching career and had only just finished his teacher training. So it might have been different for him.

I actually quite like Kai. He seems like a decent person and I like him with Sanam, who I also think is lovely.

But I do think it's a bit deluded to think you could go back to teaching after being on LI. If he teaches secondary then presumably all of his pupils will have been watching 'sir' in his kecks for the last several weeks.

Ah, so you’re saying the programme itself is morally reprehensible, regardless of how individual contestants behave, @Rollergirl11 ?

If that’s the opinion of schools generally then presumably teachers are forbidden from entering the show if they want to go back to teaching?

In which case Kai must be assuming stardom awaits and he’ll never see another classroom?

But perhaps schools are more relaxed about the show? Or they judge each case individually? Who knows? 🤷🏽‍♀️

Kai on the show when given a pick choice has more times than not picked wrong. From picking Sammi when she was clearly not into him, from shading Tanyel for Sammi, siding with Ron at the moment the lads were turning into a fun group about to get all the screen time and the desperate attempt with Olivia. He hasn’t had a connection long enough to get away from the scripted flirting shit.

Surely there is a safeguarding issue there? Seeing your teacher in his pants, kissing and having sexy times, is boundary-eroding?

Personally I would say that is enough to not allow him back into teaching. I wouldn't want my teenage daughter to be taught by someone who she has seen in those intimate circumstances. It's blurring boundaries and would be very confusing. Plus it would make it much easier for someone in Kai's position to take advantage of a vulnerable girl in his care. (Not saying Kai would do that! But that's what safeguarding rules are for - to ensure that no one could.)

Not even just Lana & Ron, none of the islanders have much personality about them. Boring and shallow. Will has personality but it's irritating and child like sadly.

Im watching every episode but they are not really giving much tbh

I’m saying that I would deem it wholly inappropriate for a teacher to be placed back in a school setting when the majority of his students will have seen him engaged in intimate behaviour on national tv. Students should only see their teachers in a professional setting; not have detailed knowledge of their six pack, type on paper, favourite sex position and if they’re a sloppy kisser! 🤦‍♀️🤮

In 5-7 years time, Kai can go back to teaching as none of the kids at that point will have watched Love Island and he's not behaved badly. In the interim, he can make a few bob (probably).

It’s not about whether he’s done anything wrong. It’s overstepping a professional boundary having him teach once his students have seen him in the intimate scenarios we’ve seen him in. Doing a sexy dance ffs. It’s not bad within the boundaries of the show but can you imagine him then having to teach some Year 11’s who have all seen him gyrating someone’s face wearing a leather thong??! 🤣🫣🤭

I think Tom was pretty honest with Samie about what happened. I don't get why she got more wound up after meeting Lydia. The only reason I'd trust Tom less than Will in a room full of girls is as Will wouldn't get any interest. Never thought I'd say that!

I’ve only watched the first quarter of unseen bits and Kai and Olivia do look really comfy together.

Sir in his keks has had me in stitches. To be honest in secondary school I’m sure it would be taken as a good thing, some common ground and the kids would probably lap it all up.

I don't think it's that Samie's plain, it's more that she doesn't wear much make up. She looks pretty much the same first thing in the morning. Some of them, not so much in this series though, look like completely different people with their face on.

So it sounds like he's a PE teacher who does a bit of KS3 science. If that's the case I imagine there are plenty of schools who would employ him, Love Island or no Love Island. There aren't a tonne of science teachers sat around waiting for jobs.
