I thought that Becky saying, “Go home mum”, meant that she should stop going as much to the grave. She did seem to spend a lot of time there, with Claire and Ryan (who never seemed to acknowledge the grave). It felt like she wasn’t letting Becky be at peace as long as she kept her hatred of TLR alive.
The going home was a chance for Catherine to finally rest, because she had realised that Ryan was nothing like TLR. When he was younger and he trashed his room or lost his temper, she must have had that worry but his insightful remarks about Claire and the fact that he had told the police about the chat on the games console showed that he was more like her.
I enjoy reading about what happened next to the people on Bakeoff, or Sewing Bee but didn’t need a list of what happened to the rest of the ‘baddies’. I think I could safely assume that they eventually would get their own comeuppance.
I could imagine Claire knitting and crocheting trying to keep her hands busy while Catherine was out working, helping to distract her from her addiction. I like to think that the finished articles were signs of her caring nature and Catherine didn’t even realise the scarf was her own security blanket. The actual blanket did save her home from being destroyed though.
Lovely ❤️
