Is it weird to say no game spoilers? I've not played the game so don't know the game story line

Who else is watching?

The 1st 2 episodes were really good

But wow. Ep 3 is amazing.

I actually cried over characters I'd known for less than 1 hour

Haven't watched yet but I played the game so know the crack. Can't wait to see what they've done with it though.

Goodness me this episode was savage. I thought Joel was going to burst in and save Ellie at the end but she just saved herself, badass! I haven’t played the game or seen spoilers and I just can’t work out how they’re going to wrap it up in one more episode!

Unpopular opinion but I'm finding myself wishing there were more zombies (and I was really not expecting to feel like this).

I was saying this yesterday, or rather today in the early hours. Where are the zombies (though I'm not allowed to call them zombies) as I think they've been absent for two episodes now.

I am enjoying the series, and think it's well done. Though I might look for the spoiler thread as I do know the story but I've never played the game.

The purpose of the infection, and the infected, is as a narrative tool to break down all civilisation as we know it almost overnight. Both the game and the adaptations are about people, and what humans are capable of doing to and for each other when society has completely disintegrated. It was foreshadowed in the first episode when the radio operator in the Boston QZ warned Joel about going out to look for Tommy, saying that 'there's worse than Infected out there'.

I've just watched latest episode.

I think it's been the most difficult one to watch so far.

I agree, unless next week's is an extended length, I'm not sure how it's going to all tie up in one episode.

(Unless it doesn't hence season 2). I haven't played the game so have no clue what will happen.

I think this is why I love this series so much. If it was all just getting chased around by zombies it would be really dull.

That was a tough watch.

Ive bloody accidentally seen a game spoiler as well!

Can't wait to see how it ends next week but I'm also kind of hoping that they somehow extend it to 2 series

Although I know they said the first series would cover the whole of the first game

I feel they could have at least doubled the number of episodes!

But then I'm used to TWD that took years to do anything

How did Ellie know the stew was human meat?

The peado preacher motivation through me a bit too when he was trying to convince her to build a new world with him.

Did he just fancy her at first sight 🤢🤢 and think she would love him back?

Even worse he was a teacher before!

She saw the ear, wasn't ready to trust. I don't think she was necessarily thinking about the fact it was human meat more just kicking the plate out of anger, but if it was due to it being human meat, then she knew as there was a cut off ear in the corner.

And for David...I reckon yeah he did immediately see her and fancy her. And knowing the weirdo he was he probably thought it'd be easy to manipulate her to go along with him - and even if she didn't, she'd still be in his control. Think that was his plan, but Ellie got ahead of him!

From the way Joel dispatched those men (brutal) to the cannibalism to the sexual violence to the way Ellie killed him. I was planning on an early night - will have to wait until my heartbeat calms down!!

Now I'm thinking where was everyone else while that was going on. How the hell will they escape without a murdering horde on their tail. And aren't they going to freeze?

Probably had a cell to either lock up any of their own people if they committed small crimes, or cells for people like Ellie, who they'd come across before. I mean they were cannibals.

The cell where Ellie was being held and the outbuildings where the dead horse and the human corpses were stored was well away from the Silver Lake Resort. David couldn't risk his flock finding out they had unknowingly become cannibals.

Absolutely. Amazing acting from such a young woman where the heck does she pull it all from? I do worry slightly about the toll it such intensity might take on her as I think she is a bit vulnerable in real life. I really hope they take good care of her.
