I’m going to be watching on iPlayer tonight so will catch up on the thread after, if anybody does decide to a) watch and b) post anything!

jay55 · 16/02/2023 20:00

I'm watching on iPlayer too, so will be a bit behind.
Really hope they both revamp their dishes and come up with something amazing as a surprise

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:05

There have been some really impressive chefs from Wales in the past. The guy who built the blast furnace was Welsh, as was the chef who did the really original pudding in the NHS year.

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:09

Feels like they are really struggling to find relevant guest judges.

jay55 · 16/02/2023 20:10

As an allergy sufferer I should be sympathetic but honestly it makes no sense to have a seafood allergy judge.

jay55 · 16/02/2023 20:11

Surely they could find an illustrator from each region. And Aardman being in bristol must have a few staff who commute over the bridge.

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:15

I like the carrot dish

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:16

On one of the Christmas Special series Kerry Godliman, who plays Ricky Gervais's late wife in Afterlife, was a judge and I really liked that she was a vegetarian because you actually got to see the vegetarian options being critiqued.

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:17

Turnip lasagne. A dish to swerve

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:17

So hope no-one from the Italian Embassy watches Fireman Sam.

Ayeitsme · 16/02/2023 20:19

Ahh the saddest lasagne in the world!

In a lunchbox.

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:19

After a chef on MasterChef: the Professionals did a magnificent turnip eight ways, turnip one way just doesn't impress me.

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:23

They should have had Superted guy instead of Gethin.

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:24

yes

Ayeitsme · 16/02/2023 20:25

Mark's bowls look vaguely fannyish.

<crosses legs>

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:25

Kinda does 🤣🤣🤣🙈

Sunbird24 · 16/02/2023 20:26

Wouldn’t you be a bit narked if you were planning on doing 4 plates for the judges (including one special one for Tom) and you suddenly had to do an extra one?

Ayeitsme · 16/02/2023 20:28

I'm really quite relieved at how much better they seem to be doing tonight, I mean I don't think the judges are blown away, but they haven't bummed out as badly as during the rounds.

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:29

Yeah but Thers nothing exciting being cooked

Ayeitsme · 16/02/2023 20:29

Yeah he didn't seem 'thrilled' did he 😂

Georgia, at least, seems too have taken all the judges comment to heart and done a lot of re-thinking

Even the lasange wasn't as sad...

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:30

That’s a sad fish and chips

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:37

The wood pigeons I get in my garden are bigger than that entire dish.

littlbrowndog · 16/02/2023 20:39

Another sad dish

where’s the drama. Have I said this before 🤣🫤

EsmaCannonball · 16/02/2023 20:39

And the sparrows in my garden are bigger than Mark's dish.
