I'm thinking about how brilliant Spencer was last year, or about chefs like Hrishikesh who never even made it to finals' week despite being far more exciting than this.

The standard over the last few weeks was so much better than this. I really hope they up their game, it seems so unfair that chefs who didn't get through from other regions could be pipped by the best of a bad bunch.

The same happens on Masterchef The Professionals - where you think they could even things up based on auditions (assuming there are auditions).

That was awful. That 'lasagne' might be the saddest dish I've seen on here!

I'm hoping the surprise is a change of judge as she was far too dour for me, Andi is gonna earn her wages this week keeping us entertained with this lot!

I think Spencer is taking over the judging tonight. He was an excellent contestant.

A couple of years ago there was a female Thai chef from the South-East who was really impressive and high-scoring, but she didn't get through to finals' week despite scoring higher than most that did. I'd like her to have another go.
