I loved it. Several laugh out loud moments

I’ve been pondering on this one, I think I’ll give it a go now given all the positive reviews here

Just watched the last episode of series one. Looking forward to the next series☠️

Loved it, especially how the last coupke of episodes became not darker, but more thoughtful and feelings of love and loss.

Dc loved it, and another Con fan here too!

@SolitudeNotLoneliness that bit where Blackbeard is just sobbing made me totally lose it.

many, many quotable lines and a great cast, gorgeous sets and costumes. Am waiting patiently for the S2 trailer 🤨

I watched this because I love What We Do in the Shadows and was a bit disappointed initally. However it really grew on me. I was struck by how it wasn't really an out and out comedy but more a show about people constrained by society or their community and trying to live the lives they actually wanted to - piracy what just the metaphor for that.

The central love story is wonderful. I really appreciated how it followed a real and tender trajectory. The scene with Steed and Blackbeard in their own little world talking about the snake restaurant he wanted to open was so affecting - it took your straight to those absorbing silly little worlds you build when you are first falling in love with someone.

Me and DH binged this and loved it. Laugh out loud moments and then incredibly tender and touching scenes. It was great. Looking forward to a second series.

Also Rhys Darby is adorable. Always so enthusiastic. I loved him as the crap manager in Flight of the Conchords.

Okay - I'm late to the party, but have just watched series one - an episode every night. So now I'm over invested and I need second series urgently!!!

Agreed that Blackbeard is most attractive - but do like him with a beard better 😅

Hurry up to Iplayer please!

I hope it is coming to iplayer... I watched it through 3 times straight when I got round to it. I won't subscribe to anything, who can afford that?

Wasn't sure about series 2 when I first watched it but enjoyed it more the second time. I love it and am obsessed with Blackbeard :)
