New thread for new series
obviously all this has happened in the past year
they would have been better filming this as it happened and showing it
as we have seen all their trips on Facebook and instagram if on it
E 1 - Chloe’s pregnancy takes a worrying turn

In December they took the younger kids to Disneyland Paris and the older girls and sue went to New York
They explained this away as being instead of Christmas presents and they'd just get a little something to open, because people weren't impressed with them bragging while the rest of the UK struggles to afford food and energy bills
Obviously you don't expect them to come down Christmas morning to nothing from Santa - though I'd expect the teen girls to understand not having much - but an XBox and TV and other gifts just for one child? What were they planning on spending/getting if that's massively cut back to the bare minimum??? Others all had similar spends on them
It's like they think people are stupid and wouldn't notice. I think going for the holiday instead and getting smaller, cheaper, gifts would have been a good idea as with that many kids there must be plenty of toys to pass down, but of course they had to do both

To be fair if they have a ticket they can go as many times as they like yearly to Alton towers and other attractions so peob after initial lay out a cheap day out
But they never travel down for the day. They always stay at the Alton towers hotel which cost a fortune, never in a travel lodge. They make me sick.

I was amazed at how shocked they seemed to be about how much stuff babies need and how expensive it all is … she has 21 siblings so surely she’s seen how much stuff they need?
Also her mum/sister probably has stuff she could have had if she really needed it?
PoinsettiaPosturing · 09/01/2023 12:07
It's become a caricature (more so than it was originally!)
The swimming was just for sue to have something to do that wasn't babies/puppies. The number of dogs they have is insane, and all super 'trendy' dogs that are riddled with health issues.
The disgusting excess of STUFF drives me mad - Chloe has siblings with kids, and parents who presumably have shedloads of stuff left over from the little ones. There's never a thought to buying second hand/hand me downs and I don't get it.
The Duggars had a similar number of kids and are awful for entirely different reasons (CSA & abuse) but at least their tagline was 'buy used and save the difference'. The fact sue was in Disney within a few days of getting back from New York was a piss take

Just watched it. OMG this is just more of the same shit rehashed yet again.
We've already seen Noel's staged efforts to get fit and do a 10K in the last series. So this time it's Sue's turn with the swimming. The new swim spa - bloody hell, I'm guessing it was a freebie but seriously, how much more out of touch with reality can they get?
Had to laugh at Sue, the county-level swimmer as a child, surrounded by her own brood all still wearing armbands. She didn't convince me with the line about how she's "really really pleased" to not always be pregnant any more.
Chloe and Jake facing "the expense of preparing for a newborn" - why on earth isn't Sue (and Millie for that matter) passing on any of their stuff?
Sue's phone at first showing the usual cracked screen - which unsupervised kid did that this time? Another new phone later on when they were talking to Chloe at the hospital. Probably smashed soon afterwards.
I thought Millie looked distinctly pissed off when the new baby was being passed around, Chester's been pushed off top spot as youngest grandchild.
So next week is buying a motorhome, and those left at home are voting for who gets which bedroom? I'm sure that was on the last series too.

I think they come across as a kind and loving family. They have a strong marriage, Noel is very hands on. She does say that they get gifted items.
They seem genuinely happy and don't appear to have many of the problems and issues regularly posted on this forum.

Oh dear, get thee to Tattle and you will find out the truth. Not so wholesome as they make out it would seem...

They've always come across to me as fairly unhappy, tbh. The constant need for new stuff (babies, dogs, stuff) and showing it all off suggests to me that there's something lacking in both their lives.
The kids don't seem overly happy either, from what I've seen - on one episode (around about 17 kac) several of them said they didn't want any more siblings; it's obvious the house is overcrowded, and they clearly don't get enough attention. The older boys seem to lack motivation to do much other than get basic jobs and lounge around playing video games. The older girls are unpaid childcare until they can get pregnant and escape. None of them appear to have much in the way of hobbies or interests.

I can’t get my head round the mix of kids and grandkids the same age! Sue’s last baby was born when her granddaughter was about 8 or 9!
So the family dynamics must be a bit strange. Do the eldest siblings in their 20/30s who live away from home and have their own kids really see the youngest ones as siblings? Surely it’s more like having nieces and nephews?

Of course she’s unhappy she was raped by a man aged 13 who she went on to marry and have 21 other children with

Wow. Kind and loving? A man raping a 13 year old getting her pregnant is kind and loving? Does it make it ok because he went on to marry her and impregnate her 22 more times???
porpy · 10/01/2023 09:53
I also wonder how things will progress now they’ve reached the point where no more babies will be coming. I doubt they ‘chose’ to stop tbh despite what they’ve said. They have said it the past few babies then a new pregnancy was always announced. I think this time round it just didn’t happen because they’ve finally reached that point, and I wonder how much Sue struggles with that. If you’ve spent your whole adult life pregnant/with a newborn it must be a massive adjustment.
noooope · 10/01/2023 10:11
It's a reality tv justifying why they've had 22 kids trying to prove "all is well". Honestly since the first time I watched it when it started going on the tabloids with Britains most crowded family popping out a baby every year with a tally chart increasing has always made my eyes bleed. They don't look look happy, the children get no attention, it's chaotic but all is well as long as they can go on holidays and buy expensive gadgets. It's not a healthy dynamic and something to be proud of.

Thanks to full birth dates I came across for Sue, Noel and Chris online (which may be incorrect but the years are correct at least) it seems that Sue was about 13 and 4 months old when Noel, aged 17 and 8 months got her pregnant.
A fine upstanding family! So lovely and heartwarming!
